@NILvsNLI Problem is student athletes weren't given the option to opt-out of the Injunctive Relief portion of the settlement. The part imposing roster limits.

@McCannSportsLaw While I have full confidence in the judge's expertise, I don't think she fully understood the large number of athletes being harmed from the roster limits. She said that people don't tend to like it when you take things away & thousands are about to have their roster spot taken.

@McCannSportsLaw I am familiar with her objection. I particularly like it when it is pointed out that it “appears that class counsel has knowingly disregarded [athletes’] rights in exchange for a large monetary payout.”

@McCannSportsLaw I assure you that the judge was not made aware that thousands of student athletes would be losing their roster spot and $ from the one line of "significant collateral consequences". It was not brought up in the hearing.

@cschill1332 @jeremycrabtree Who are you referring to when you say "they"? Thousands of students athletes that didn't want this, were never consulted on the matter, and are losing their roster spots are having to deal with it. Those that don't have to deal with it are lining their pockets with $$$.

@ByBerkowitz @samcehrlich One of the objections by MoloLamken had over 150 declarations from student athletes objecting to the roster limits.

@mitchgilfillan Unfortunately, many scholarship athletes will be cut from current rosters with the roster limits. Athletes with 4 year contracts are unsure if they will be able to keep their scholarships after being cut.

@mirageofwins @LReathaford @therealshenger @NILvsNLI She created the page in 2016 because she had student athletes and wanted a place where parents could discuss and get help for issues pertaining to their student athletes. As creator, she automatically became the administrator.

@mirageofwins @therealshenger @CallMichele Why do you care so much about walk ons? Obviously coaches find it beneficial.

@mirageofwins @therealshenger @CallMichele 2/2 There are many sports with no walk-ons that do not get any to little scholarship money. I think SA should be able to decide what is best for them and their future.

@dmathisroiet @Remzsx It’s not like he wants to reconnect with her. He wants her to go through major surgery and give him a kidney! It would be a hard no from me.
