Have you missed all the shit in Syria, Afghanistan and Ethiopia? I'm sure it wasn't 'decades ago'. Some of it is still going on.
@EU_NO_MORE
Most of us do, and it was shit, which is why those who can, live in centrally heated homes with double glazing.
We also had rickets, TB and nearly everyone who got cancer died.
Many people died in their 60s.
Do you think we should make some people go back to those days?
@superwoman135

And your implication being that the people from those other countries are not, "Normal men, women and children who are just working for a better life are the same as us."

15,000 Russians have been arrested for protesting. Why do you feel the need to use the protests in Iran, to disparage their protests?
Whilst Rishi Sunak distracts us with small boats the Gov’ts anti strike bill will rob millions of workers of their democratic right to strike, its Elections Act will lock millions out of the electoral process & new laws will strip back our right to protest. UK media must wake up!

I appreciate you racists can't distinguish between different brown people but her parents came from Bangladesh a country 2200km away.
It's like saying a Romanian is from England.
She's never been a citizen of that country.
@ontologoff
They're attacking her because she dared accuse someone from the royal household of racism.
They're using anything they can to discredit her.
We're supposed to put up with it and not rock the boat.
Same people who accused BLM of stirring up racism.
@KateEMcCann
@SamCoatesSky
Really?
Anyone who watched that can see you're attempting to spin a perfectly harmless reaction from a group of supporters celebrating a win.
@hullfc123
@JustinWelby
We've taken 88,000 HK Chinese - with up to 3m to come - and 120,000 Ukrainians, yet you're focussed on a few hundred brown people being shipped to Rwanda.
What is your 'main issue?'
@steppenhorse
@katherinemzhou
None of the 'non-white' nations wanted European invaders who came and took their wealth.
Now they've taken all they can and can't lord it over other people, they want to slink back to their own countries and be left alone?
It doesn't work like that.
@shakkazulu
@umpteenthtym
Colonisation wasn't confined to governments taking over other countries.
A huge proportion of Africa's wealth is "owned" by Western companies. They continue to exploit the continent.
Here's an example of a Swiss company doing it.

They do. The UK takes fewer per capita than any of the countries you mentioned, despite being more responsible for creating refugees.

The 'war' on drugs is designed to improve the funding of drug enforcement and increase the profits of drug dealers.
Believe it or not, making guns harder to obtain, reduces shootings, but I suspect logical thinking isn't your forte.

The Starmer who has thrown the Muslim population under a bus and undermined the speaker?
The man who scuppered his candidate in Rochdale once he realised he'd lose?
That Starmer?

And the biggest shame is, she's indoctrinating her granddaughter. These are people I grew up with and I was hoping that when we die out these attitudes would go with them.
@mermaidwrites
I don't think anyone is saying that. But if you're going to write a character whose experience is outside yours, make sure you do it well.
Don't use lazy tropes and caricatures.
This is a good article.
@oflynnsocial
You're completely wrong, again.
Veterans are prioritised for housing. Asylum seekers can't access council housing.
Do a bit of research before spouting off in public.
Horrifying that the most common age of Israeli victims killed in Gaza during the first twenty days of this invasion is 5, followed by 3. Yet, we're told most of them were Hamas terrorists.
After some digging, this is the original source:
A data analysis on those murdered between Oct 7th - 26th, carried out by Norwegian newspaper ‘VG.’
The death toll has since doubled, but with schools repeatedly targeted, I see no reason this would drastically change.
The Parent Pack
We share this every year. There is a child in both photos in the same position with a different colour coat on. Really important when choosing winter clothes.

How to tell us you're a dreadful boss.
25% of sickness occurs on 20% of working days. Wow, shocking!
Is it because people ill at at the end of the week struggle on?
People get to Friday evening drained and they limp through the weekend. Often, they've not recovered by Monday.
@Sleazebuster
Funnily enough, that reflects our household, but I haven't really noticed all these adverts you're so angry about.
In fact, I don't think I've ever got angry about the ethnicity of anyone in an advert. Why would anyone who's not a racist be bothered?
@DeanIvy3
@GaryLineker
Dean, why would they pay thousands to come here for £40 a week in the first place?
If they're "benefit shopping" they should say in France and get over £50 a week, cheaper bills and save the thousands.
Not sure you've thought this through, genius.

Seen people praising tories for the foodbanks - we had none under Labour - and criticising anyone who wants to do away with them.
@pixiesheena
@DPJHodges
The government asked retired staff to come back - at great risk to their lives - because they'd run down the NHS.
They asked for volunteers because they've destroyed social services.
The people who volunteered should be applauded, not the government.
Email to Labour Party members this morning from Jeremy Corbyn. More common sense and understanding than every Johnson press conference so far on

This is another question which a serious journalist would have asked long ago.

But the threat of homelessness would then disappear and people might then become justifiably outraged at having to pay so much for accommodation.
@doctor_oxford
Rachel, this was the same in 1983. It was horrible then and will be awful now. But we have to keep fighting. Johnson doesn't have the intellect or stomach for the job. We have to be ready for when he falters.

She did well to recognise him. I wouldn't have known he was health secretary without the caption. I didn't realise we still had one.

Is Hamas running the market stalls using stolen fresh produce?
Why would they need to steal the food if there was no shortage?
Israel supporters don't even bother having logical lies because they've got away with it for so long.
@JamesCleverly
Looking at the time you posted this, I'm assuming you did it after a liquid lunch in one of the subsidised bars in the HOC.
The only reason this won't make you go down in people's estimation is because you're already at rock bottom.

I'm also waiting for an answer to: What is Israel's endgame? What are they trying to achieve?
If it looks like ethnic cleansing, and sounds like ethnic cleansing...
@JujuliaGrace
Alan Johnson continues to disappoint. His review was an exercise in self-justification. He did little/nothing to reverse the creeping privatisation of the service. It was telling that he also favourably reviewed a book about the NHS from a Spectator journalist in the same piece.
@graceblakeley
One of my beliefs is we should always stand up to bullies, whatever their politics, and always speak out against racism.
I'm sure you don't mean to suggest we let it slide because the victim comes from a privileged background, but that's what it's sounding like.

We were short of drivers before they left.

Peston is "roasting the government"? What a strange take.
He's pushing the government line that these antibody tests will be a 'game changer' when, as the professor pointed out, they will be nothing of the sort.

The guys marching are members of a protestant group celebrating the massacre of Catholics and want NI to remain British.
The sight of an Irish flag causes their brains to implode and makes them want to kill more Catholics.
Something like that.

Can't people celebrate his generosity without attacking him for his wealth.
At least he hasn't directly exploited people to amass his wealth, as far as I know.
