Today marks 11 years since my best pal took his own life.
In the early years I always felt sad and angry on this day, but now I just like to remember the good times, the dumb and funny things we used to get up to, the many, many jokes and laughs.

It's 9 years today since my best friend killed himself. I miss him everyday. The shockwaves of it still have their effects. When you choose suicide you don't end the pain, you pass it forward. I wish he could see how far we've come with mental health. Be kind to yourselves!

In Irish you don’t say ‘I am sad’ you say ‘tá brón orm’ which means ‘sadness is on me’ and I’ve always liked that because it shows that you aren’t the emotions you feel. They’re just on you for awhile and then they leave. You don’t have to identify with them

Today is World Suicide Prevention Day. The best way I know to prevent suicide is to talk openly about your mental health, because when you do this you let others know that it’s okay to talk about their struggles too.
