Honestly one of the best things about Houston, as opposed to Austin, has been the near-absence of anti-newcomer bullshit.
Folks in the Bayou City welcome new folks warmly. At least in casual conversation, there’s much less of the insider/outsider dynamic than I felt in Austin.

The vote on Project Connect was already 4 years ago.

The I-81 viaduct that has divided Syracuse for decades is officially coming down! A boulevard will take it's place and will not only stitch the grid back together, but also begin an important healing process for the city.

To be honest, it is much harder to bike in Austin than Houston.
And that’s almost entirely because our “bike lanes” are poorly designed. No actual protection, STROADS, and frequent block-long gaps that make you swerve back into traffic at random.
We deserve so much better!
