@Jayyanginspires Did you just read Ian Tuhovsky? 🙂 (Pretty good book.) Re: empathy, we teach our students not to focus on empathy (understanding what the other person is feeling), but on the BYPRODUCT of empathy - making sure the other person FEELS understood. A subtle but important shift.

@agazdecki Same! It's been blowing our minds. Garrett had a silly little wine app he's wanted to build and in 20 minutes he had a decent version. Still working out some kinks, but it will exist very soon! The game has already changed.

@FerraroOnAir Yes, we remember that one from high school! Will give it a re-read. Thanks, Joe!

@JTorreCoaching One person said Elon, but we'd argue that he's charismatic based on the dictionary definition of the word ("exercising a compelling charm which inspires devotion in others"). People are definitely devoted to him!

@JTorreCoaching The tax time crunch = no fun. We're pretty good about staying ahead of things. Worst part for us is paying thousands of dollars to accountants when it seems like pretty much the same thing every year, just different numbers. Seems like those days may come to and end with AI.

@Jayyanginspires Can't tell you how many times we've thought we had a brilliant idea, only to google it and realize it's been around for ages.

The game has already changed. The human skills AI can’t replicate are more important than they’ve ever been.
At stanford today I asked the cs 153 class how many of them use @cursor_ai. 300 hands shot up. Every. Single. One.

We always ask candidates what books they’re reading or podcasts they’re listening to. The speed and enthusiasm with which they answer can give some great clues about their growth mindset.
Best hiring advice I’ve received: Hire people who love what they do so much, they listen to podcasts about it. Getting to build with these people will make your day. Their obsession, their love for the craft, it’s infectious and awesome 🤩
