Lol. I love it when opponents prove our point for us. Speed limits are fantastic - they regulate misuses, not technology. SB 1047 is proposing throwing automobile engineers in jail when a driver breaks the law.
It is kind of cute seeing people encounter the concepts of thresholds and enforcement seemingly for the first time. "The speed limit is set to 65 mph? Why not 66? Why not 10?" "Who does this 'SEC' report to? They're seriously making it a crime to lie to them?".

Important misconception worth clearing up:. "Senate passed our bill" != law. This only becomes law if the CA Assembly votes for it in August. So, the next 2 months are critical for little tech and open source devs to get our shit together. Sucks to be here. But not too late.
