Very nice work showing that noisy quantum circuits (on average) can be efficiently classically simulated (using Pauli propagation).👇
Another amazing paper from our Summer School student @QuAntonioMele (is that 3 papers already form the school?!), and from our collaboration with the power house that are @acl_angrisani and @QuantumManuel from @qZoeHolmes 's incredible group.

P.S. The dream is that someday I will be able to connect the fields of diet/nutrition and physics-based computing. And that’s why I coined the term “thermo keto” in the tweet below
I've been encouraging friends to get on the keto diet to mitigate these issues. Carbs have a low thermic effect - need more thermo. Thermo keto is the future.

Another great article from @kpcallaghan_ about thermodynamic computing, arguing rightfully that we need energy efficiency in modern computers. The article highlights the work at both @VaireHQ and @NormalComputing, with a discussion of why thermodynamics is the “natural language” of computation
Should we have been building computers that run programs both forwards and backwards from the get-go? In my new feature for @newscientist I go back 60 years to Rolf Landauer's ideas, and dabble in looking into computing's future with one promising startup

This is the 2nd year that Max has won an award at this conference!! Last year, his award came for our work on Thermo Linear Algebra. We are honored to be recognized by @IEEEorg and the organizers of "Rebooting Computing".
Today, @MaxAifer won the award for the Best Short Presentation at the IEEE Rebooting Computing conference! He presented his Thermo Linear Algebra work (. Congrats Max!! #IEEE #RebootingComputing #ThermoComputing

Excited to be a part of the great MLNCP workshop today
Current deep learning models are simply what runs well on current GPUs. Hardware lottery. What if you had hardware that could instantly minimize some energy function? EBMs would be able to scale! @ylecun's ideas might be easier to implement.

I will be attending the MLNCP workshop at NeurIPS this week. @MaxAifer will also be there. If you’re attending, feel free to reach out! My talk there will give a broad overview of our thermo computing work, while Max will be presenting our “Thermodynamic Bayesian Inference” work. I will also be part of the Hardware Panel. See the full MLNCP schedule here: Thanks very much to the organizers of MLNCP for putting together this great workshop. I will also mention that our team at Normal is growing and hiring on multiple fronts, with offices in NYC, SF, LON, and CPH. Check out our job openings here:
