One of the biggest false conventional wisdoms is teaching pitchers to tuck or pull their gloves. Listen to coach @mcashion1 explain this issue. Early glove causes the shoulders to open early, the arm to be late, missing glove side. Your glove should swivel and stabilize after foot strike, not before. @npa_pitching

🎯 It’s the coaches job to understand how a player learns best and adapt to the player to create the best leaning environment. Effective coaching and mentoring is not easy and requires constant learning, flexibility, and awareness of a players leaning style. @NPA_Pitching @EricFenske9
On paper two coaches have essentially the same resume yet have two opposite approaches to their coaching style. Two players go to the same instructor and receive the same level of instruction yet they see different results. Some players respond well to “tough” coaching while others respond better to “calm” coaching. Some players make it look easy with little practice while others have to work their butt off to get results. Two people can read the same caption but read it completely different. One pitcher holds their change up with one grip while their other holds it differently but both throw it well. One batter has an upright stance while the other is more squatty but both are considered good hitters. If you think there’s one way, your way, you’re obviously not paying attention. We are literally ALL built different physically and mentally. It’s up to us as individuals to learn what works best for us and as coaches, we need to see them as individuals and help them with that process.

🎯 Exactly, it’s science. GFF (go forward fast). Elite pitchers get into foot-strike in approx 1 second. @NPA_Pitching @tomhouse @DeanDoxakisNPA @EricFenske9
How can physics help improve velo? 🔎📊 Hard throwers rely on different variables to maximize kinetic energy (and momentum): ⬆️ Mass (ideally lean mass) ⬆️ Displacement (from levers and/or mechanics) ️ Time (being fast twitch, i.e. closing the gap quickly)
