Today, the #BigBearLakePublicWorksDepartment deployed 2️⃣ massive snow blowers for the purpose of widening streets. This piece of equipment can widen roads up to about 3-feet on each side & has the potential to clear 3k tons of snow per hour! ❄️🚜

Don't mind us...we're just here... moving snow... only to make room for more. The City uses parking lots in the Village for snow storage & since we could see 3-5 ft (maybe more) of snow tonight- we surely need the space! Village lots are still accessible. Stay home. Stay safe.

Personnel have been attacking the fire from the bottom of the mountain to the top, and will continue tomorrow from top to bottom for full coverage. Base camp for Incident Command is currently in the process of moving from Yucaipa to Snow Summit in Big Bear Lake.

Today’s focus on the Radford Fire has been continued containment to the ridge near Forest Service Road 2N10. The fire line briefly crossed the ridge overnight, creating some spot fires that were captured quickly with additional help received today through the mutual aid system.

As of 7:00 a.m. this morning, California Interagency Incident Management Team 11 has assumed command of the Radford Fire. Big Bear Fire Department is part of this unified command structure. From yesterday to today, workforces have tripled in number with apparatus and personnel.

Don't worry, though, the lake has certainly benefited from the recent rain & snow storms. According to the Big Bear Municipal Water District (BBMWD), the lake is currently 10.22 ft from full and has risen nearly 6 feet since early January!
