crews proceeded to push forward today over in the Twin Peaks area on SR-189 today. These areas are really tight in some locations with large loaders. As of this morning, crews have removed over 8.2 million cubic yards of snow.

We aren't joking about this snowfall. This is a look at SR-2 in Wrightwood this morning. Our plow had gone up, and then came down at 9:30 a.m., the other image was 5 minutes later after the plow came through. Please stay off mountain roads, if able.

SR-2 will open from Big Pines to SR-138 at 10 p.m. tonight, to all. Chains are not required, but should be with you as a precaution. Snow play is not allowed on shoulders or turnouts! Crews were able to clear this road more quickly due to different snow levels.

Fawnskin Crew did some serious heavy lifting on SR-18 through 'Arctic Circle' today. Crews have now removed over 12 million cubic yards of snow off the State Highway systems in the San Bernardino Mountains!

Listen up everyone. We know the snow is appealing and a lot of people want to head up. Be prepared for long delays, possible closures and lots of people. Bring chains and plenty of patience. Avoid travel if possible. The snow will still be there Saturday and Sunday. Be safe!
The State will continue to provide water and assistance to stranded vehicles on the I-40 and I-15. Crews are also providing means of supplying gasoline. We are also working with all our partner agencies to expedite the removal of the overturned semi.

This will be closed for several days if not weeks. Waiting on engineers to give us info for Emergency Work. We’ll see what can be worked out for traffic handling but for now use 330.
We are expecting snow in the local mountains later this week. We want to remind all the visitors and residents of a few things when traveling. So listen up! Tips are in the thread!
