I don’t think we have fully grasped the level of trauma Nigerians are subjected to on a daily basis as a result of terrorism. The incessant barrage of terrorist attacks don’t even leave one enough time to process before the next cycle of violence commences. #Ondo.

@ImohUmoren Abuja people feel the impact of poor governance from the centre earlier than everyone else. For example, while the current fuel scarcity hit everyone hard the I. past few months, the issue in Abuja long persisted…like months before.

@pyjama_ceo This matter has not been settled. I have strawberry beef with you. In fact, if not for your other reasonable state men and women, I would have called for a Plateau farm produce embargo on Edo. You sha…we will do orientation for you.

@Emeneks Omg, if I didn’t read the comments and you asked me who this is, I’d say it was late former president, Yar’Adua.

@LuckyGolden19 You totally missed the point of the tweet thread. In no way, have I suggested that PO is tribalistic. And I think you will see from the responses that it’s all been good natured conversations. And hopefully genuine commerce emerges from it.

@FadeOgunro So sorry for your loss! Nigeria has been so unkind to many. May your dad continue to rest in peace.

“Government is partnering with U-LESSON Education, one of the new Education Technology Company in Nigeria founded by one of the illustrious sons of Plateau State, Mr. Sim Shagaya that will offer online science education to secondary school students.” .- Hon. Governor @PLSGov 🙏🏾.

People who are seemingly “doing ok” experience these moments more than we think. I’ve told my story about how I found myself w/ virtually nothing & w/out a home in 2021. If you’re fortunate to not be here, be kind. If you’re here, don’t despair; put one foot ahead of the other.
After paying all bills and salaries last year December, I was left with just 17k. I took myself to a lounge, bought grilled fish of 10k, smoothie 5k. On my way home, I saw Suya and I bought 2k. Ended the year without a kobo and entered 2024 without a dime. That’s the craziest.

@toluogunlesi I’m always amazed by the confidence with which people tweet false information that can be easily verified with a Google search.

What excites me about @Tunde_OD’s and @chessinslums’s work is that it will definitely inspire many many more organisations like this across Nigeria. And I hope we can all make time to support their work.
I visited the Area Boys at oshodi recently, it was our first re-union in three months. I wanted to make sure they were doing okay and also talk to them about the upcoming elections so they don't become pawns in another man's game. A thread.

Absolutely phenomenal work you and your team are doing @Tunde_OD. You are turning a spotlight on poverty in a way that dignifies the people who live in it. A powerful remember that talent is widely distributed but opportunity isn’t. History will judge you so kindly.
Glad I got to be a part of your story♥️. I hope this changes everything for you guys so you can get to live the future you truly desire and not what life has chosen for you.

@dozieohaeri I can DM you vendors for different goods. The only caveat is Poor infrastructure and security can hamper the cost effective delivery of goods down south. And in some cases, they arrive spoiled. So will check whether they send down south. Alas, cost of poor governance.

Overwhelmed by the +ve responses to this tweet. Yes, Plateau will trade w/ anyone 😃 so please treat the ‘boycott’ comment as the joke it’s intended to be. Here are details of farms/farmers I know but encourage other business (even outside Plateau) to plug themselves.
Anambra folks - I hope you like potatoes because Plateau is about send truckloads. My people voted for your statesman in some crazy numbers and are now facing boycott threats 😂. While you are at it, we have strawberries, tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower. You name it, we got it!.

@therealchyke @saratu Your point is taken - I assume this is Lagos - but I can confidently say that if you live in a place like Jos, a fireplace would not be out of order. In fact, it is still not uncommon to find them in houses in the city.

Thanks to everyone who voted on my poll. I’ll be moderating a Spaces discussion tomorrow, Sun 30 Jan at 7pm (WAT). I’ll be joined by @iaboyeji @ido_sum @vested_africa and @adetolaov.
I had conversations recently with a couple of people that sparked my interest in potentially running a Twitter Spaces discussion. Which of the following would interest you?.

You will never understand the depth of love until it is given to you by people, to whom you have nothing to offer except your brokenness and pain. But they give it regardless. Take a moment to thank the people who loved you through these past 11 months! #DecemberGratitude.

@cchukudebelu The question is, will Nigeria’s collective amnesia finally break in 2023? This country has shown an incredible tendency to “forget things” as election dates draw close.

@gbagyigirl_ @ifbnw @Ismailthegr8 This is a typical behaviour of an emotional abuser - they treat their victims like the most precious thing when other people are around who they deem to be “consequential” but alone or around people they deem “inconsequential”, the monster comes out.

I still can’t wrap my head around why Bloomberg just didn’t seek this clarification before writing that article with a rather sensationalist headline. Small research would have shown the dip was 5.6% which coincided with backlog clearance and Eurobond payments.
Arise News carried their bad character to Washington and got suitably schooled. Anyway sha, Headmaster has spoken on reserves: “the elephant in some room” 😂😂😂😂

@asemota Yep. I lived in both. I left the U.K. and moved to the US drawn it by all the promise of more. You didn’t have to ask me to leave. I moved myself back after 3 years. You get more on paper, less in the quality of life (at least the one I wanted).

The entire drama leading up to #SenegalElections just shows you what happens when you truly have independent and well-functioning institutions. But above all, it’s inspirational to see how the Senegalese 🇸🇳 refused to be bullied and silenced.

This is an own goal, no? You can’t pushback against allegations of non-credible elections and then turn around and present data that suggests otherwise. It’s one or the other, no matter who is favoured or not.
Somewhere in Enugu, one handwriting, different polling units! And multiple cancellations!! Yet, they seek to take the moral high ground when talking about rigging!!

Ghana is witnessing a growth in ancestral tourism - 400 years since the first recorded enslaved Africans arrived in Virginia. It’s been touted as the Year of Return for the African diaspora tracing their history. Read the full story: by @Ed_Reuters
