Could anyone in Barnard Castle on Easter Sunday please urgently check any photos they took on their phones - you never know what’s in the background. You could be a superhero.
The doctor phoned me way after her shift to say she couldn’t go home with a clear conscience without calling me. She then called the hospital and I’m booked in first thing for bloods and a scan. f*** the Tories and their lazy GPs narrative.
Couldn’t praise
@HealthJesmond
any more for the care they give. But angry at how NHS staff have to go above and beyond to make up for lack of resources.
Taken into hospital yesterday. Four hour waiting time at A&E. Within 90 minutes, seen the two doctors, given morphine, blood tests, antibiotics and chest X ray. Ultrasound scan today. Amazing docs and nurses. Cherish our NHS. Remember this next Thursday when you vote.
I’ve been feeling fairly grotty for a few weeks now and finally messaged my GP this morning, only to get a reply that there were staff shortages and only emergency messages were being answered.
Fast forward to 8pm and
Here’s a thought: everyone caught congregating in large groups or throwing parties should be forced to watch footage of a young boy’s coffin being lowered into the ground by men in Hazmat suits, no family allowed to say goodbye or grieve by his grave.
So sad and a tragic waste of a life, he was a fantastic student I taught

The problem with Twitter: Nottingham is currently undergoing a Jihadi terror attack, chemical bomb, random stabbing spree, major fire. I’ve even seen a poll where you choose your favourite option
And they wonder why we need journalists…

How lovely to see Jeffrey Archer promoting his latest novel on GMB today. In four hours' time my

lecture will be about him being jailed for lying in a libel trial.
Capt Tom walked because the NHS is underfunded.
He died because of the virus you failed to control.
How dare you ask us to applaud and how dare you try and rewrite history.
BBC need to think harder about privacy issues and react better when something this horrendous happens live on TV. Unacceptable to broadcast wife crying and a man receiving CPR

Last day today as fashion journalism course leader at

I was predicted 3 As at A level. I didn’t work hard enough and got 2 Cs and a D. I went on to become a national newspaper and magazine exec in London and New York then a journalism lecturer. No one will judge you on your results once you make the next step. Keep moving forward.
You find little bits of joy where you can. Bob Mortimer is on a new episode of

He makes me cry laughing whether on this show,

PP has slides with tips from

journalism grads. This was the generous and kind advice from Taalay Ahmed, shot dead in Ghana while working as a journalist. It has remained on my slides for 8 years and I won’t replace it.
The reason journalists persisted in asking about the PM’s condition at the briefing is that good reporters can smell a lie a mile off. If you don’t ask questions, you don’t get answers. If you don’t get answers, even more reason to keep kicking at that door for the truth.
My dad was at Lockerbie within hours of the tragedy. 35 years on, he can’t bear to watch tonight’s documentary with
@lorraine
- journalists just buried the trauma of what they saw. It’s so good journalism educators now discuss mental health and resilience with our students
So many people are naming on social media a person they think is the 17 year old arrested over the Stockport stabbings.
1. Unverified
2. Juvenile anonymity until 18
3. Right to privacy over arrest.
4. Some irresponsible views expressed over the back story here

I’m so sad and angry at what’s happening at the Mirror. So many talented and experienced friends and former colleagues going.
And thoughts with those left to pick the pieces with taskmasters who don’t care about journalism.
What a powerful piece by

@DailyMirror
- it’s never been more pertinent today. Treasure the NHS, think of our doctors and nurses in these unprecedented times.
Let’s take a deep breath here. We need to be able to distinguish between the trained responsible media and the Wild West of social media idiots. Not a single trained journalist with libel knowledge would have accused someone of murder

The only reason I’m not severely depressed right now is huge swathes of the country might start appreciating journalism, and god forbid, buy a paper. You know, the printed paper ones.
Piers Morgan, boasting today, amid a

competition to win your mortgage being paid for two years, that he’s paid off ALL the mortgages on ALL his homes “because he works hard.”
Well, f*** you. Your viewers working in shops, cleaning offices and saving lives work harder.
The Kay Burley saga is a real lesson for journalism students that you have to practice what you preach and will be held up to the same high standards as those you write about.
Thank you

Poor teachers. No one cared if they got infected today. Now they have to turn around teaching to online overnight. Do you know how difficult and time-consuming it is to prepare remote teaching material, let alone when still teaching on site for key workers’ children?
