I'm not ashamed to say I am 1 of the working poor A single parent to 1 child. I am disgusted today. I cant afford to replace my light that has blown because I am diverting my support into extra travelling expenses to get to work, I can't afford to put oil in my tank
@thereclaimparty
@BootstrapCook
She doesn't take money of anyone. It's a choice to buy her books. You take money inexpenses for the meals during your working hours and lord knows what else. No1 else's gets food allowance whilst at work
I've had to turn my oil on for 1 hour!! It is still freezing,& Lord knows how much oil that has used up!! When homes go without heat it takes even longer to warm them up & costs even more.
@J_Donaldson_MP
your home nice and warm?Many of ours are cold.I invite you to try it out!
@LBC
@AndrewMarr9
These "immigrants" are fleeing for safety because big rich men like to play with guns in other countries. Mainly the immigrants countries. !

I think by the looks of it. It was just put in an open bag. No excuses he had no right. Boots should be ensuring medication is in a sealed bag as well
This is sickenjng. Listwning to Nolan. Heat spaces,people with good wages reckoning its a great idea!!! Imagine taking people out of their homes to the cold air,to get to a shared space for a bit of heat to go back OUTSIDE to their COLD homes!!! Hang your heads in shame!
@BBCNews
Small. Some had periods come back after months. If a covid vaccine can do this what else is it doing? We don't know about fertility but in 20 years time it will be too late.
So went to start my new part time cleaning job today. Only 4 hours and summer cover but it pays more than my Classroom assistant role per hour. Even my 11 year could see the problem. Education is not valued properly nor are staff paid or valued adequate.
I believe once elected into office, at least once a month every MLA should be put on a bus ( nothing fancy) and bused to a rural village or town to see what impact or not their decisions are having on people. They should be accountable to the voter and should be listening to all
I do believe bringing stormont down in the midst of rising costs & so many households struggling to make ends meet never mind switch their heating on and eat is purely selfish & self -centered This does not represent the publics needs or their vote Wages need to stop immediately
Just spoke on the Nolan show about my experiences just this week. The reality of low income and nothing to fall back on.
To listen to grown men argue over this and that whilst listening to peoples realities is appalling. I couldnt speak but boy if i wasnt muted!
Kudos to all them single parents out there. Doing santa on your own is lonely. Your kids will appreciate it and in years to come will value I all even more.
Happy Christmas to you all.
Is slowly diminishing & I can't afford to replenish because I started a new job and could be 6 wks before I see pay Work pays? Does it? This is the reality facing so many & many much worse than I am Politicians need to hang their heads in shame,they haven't a clue of the reality
@greghove
@PhdTownTrail
You go onto your journal and leave a message for your workcoach. You are uanbek to attend due to beginning a new job. You also need to do a change in circumstances on the day you begin your new job. Also screenshot your messages, UC has been known to delete on their side
I am not posting this for sympathy I am posting this as the reality that so many face and today's announcement will just bring more worry and fear into their homes as to what is next How do we trust the decision makers when they evidently don't give a toss about the public
@BelTel
My child is 12, she wouldn't have a clue what a 'prod' was or a fenian etc. Communities and parents have a responsibility here to show our children a better way to live not filled with hatred
If we need spending cuts why cant it start at the doorstep of politicians.! Stop free working meals, travel allowance, second homes, subsidised alcohol and also wages for those who wont work for the public.
Thankfully I have an open fire! I haven't bought myself clothes in over 2 years. My child's birthday is next week she is 11 i cant afford to get her anything, she goes to piano lessons the only extra curricular activity she does I now cant afford it. The food in the cupboards
To those who are giving out about striking nurses, etc. Would you say the same about politicians? They are also not working Difference is they are on full pay and the lack of work impacts on public service strikes
Can you imagine. Travelling all day for a 5 min appointment, on a bus, that cost you maybe £20 on top of losing a full days wage.
And this will be heavily laid at the doors of Fermanagh people, no doubt. Belfast centric isn't serving all the people of N Ireland.w
"I would far rather travel extra miles to have treatment in a timely fashion."
@naomi_long
tells
@MarkCarruthers7
that more people should be prepared to travel to access healthcare...
@JamieBrysonCPNI
@J_Donaldson_MP
It doesn't need SF to sit to pass. Dup should be sitting where they have been elected to sit, in Stormont and pass it at home.
No matter what way they spin it. A woman, a mum, a wife and a daughter is currently being kept incarcerated because of this government. Not her own doing, theirs! And they don't want the debt to look like a ransom payment.! Just pay the debt fga
Iran says pay the £400 million owed to them and they'll
#FreeNazanin
In House of Lords debate, Tory government says it will do everything to free Nazanin
Except pay the £400 million debt
To all those generously offering help. Thankyou. This is not why I done this post. However, I am currently trying to locate a group or groups that will directly help local families with the things people don't think about (such as my own)that you may donate to if you so wish.
@BBCNewsNI
So is he paying for this out of his own pocket or ours? This has been dragged out long enough its time for women to have the same rights across the UK. They should not see a sea border which is exactly what they are experiencing
I cant even begin to say how i feel after seeing the comments today about people choosing to live on "benefits" . The biggest benefit grabbers are our politicians yet the finger point at the poorest.
Its demoralising and stigmatising. But thats what they want.. us shamed.
@PeterStefanovi2
@BBCNews
He keeps talking about the living wage to justify this cut. Yet when they talk about UC they talk about getting people out to work. Nearly 50% on UC are working so if they were on a great living wage they wouldn't need UC right?

You dont speak for me or N I
You dont support it & thats your choice as mine is to support it.
MlAs do NOT have the right to block womens health care. Even more so when services are available in the rest of the UK!! You complain about the protocol yet you want to cherrypick

@MichaelRosenYes
When so much money is being spent on private services being drawn into the NHS yet they won't pay public staff the old saying there isn't a magic money tree doesn't quite cut it. There is for the private sector !
For the first time I have stood uo in front of a public meting and spoke about the issues of low income and fuel poverty and the impacts on households. Its no longer good enough. We need better for people.
#FPCHustings
Today, I was off work(unpaid) due to getting the steroid in my foot yesterday evening.
I took myself to the hairdressers, the first time in 3 or more years. I got my hair coloured and cut nearly died at the price. I could only afford this because of my participation
@JeffreyPeel
This i do not agree with. It is well known she has had surgery for a gynae condition. It can impact on health and weight issues. And besides that would this be directed at an overweight male,? I doubt it
@ItsPButler
@DaniRowley
Have you heard of working poor? Before we berate people and families. Let's take a look at employers.Cutting working hours, zero hour contracts, no notice inflexible hours the list is endless but people want to belittle and place judgement on those who are forced to feed by theft
When you are not ashamed to say your on benefits and you need them to survive. I'm one of the working poor so many talk about. Low income, no savings, live week to week sometimes day to day esp when I need to fill the oil tank.!
I am so angry and annoyed this morning If i stopped i would cry but it wouldnt stop!! The shame of this . Time invested in discussing heat banks whilst we try to discuss how we elimate foodbanks. I live right beside an old workhouse! This is what we are being offered nothing else
When we see foodbanks going bust because they cant keep up with demand and donations decline. What will our government do when there is no foodbanks to feed people ? If they done their job we wouldnt need foodbanks
So we see period poverty, food poverty, heat poverty, elderly poverty, furniture poverty, childhood poverty. Anything ring a bell? Similarities? POVERTY simples. Collectively these groups need to come together all over the UK use participatory practice & make the voices heard
@Kwajotweneboa
£15 a day for an adult wouldn't get far In a hotel. Considering politicians spent much more in 1 meal and tye costs of subsidising their canteens !
@Depheruk
@GBNews_UK
20,000 worth of food. Meanwhile people are offered 3 days worth of donated food. These people are so far from reality they cant even beging to imagine
Poverty has been NORMALISED and accepted. Again we have people with means telling ppl with less means how to survive whilst they get fed daily for free, sit in overheated spaces, and get their diesel costs to goto work!!!
WARNING!!! AWARE. Someone is impersonating
@C_Fitz_
and has her blocked so she doesn't know. They have shared a PayPal account for donations.
@C_Fitz_
is NOT sharing details publicly.
Eeeek 🙊😱 I am part of the audience tonight on Spotlight! No matter how many times you speak about your passions and activism for low income and poverty. Being in a room/ zoom to ask questions and engage is daunting😬🤐. Must watch my qs ad ts
@Ainebainnez
No. Honestly,I will get by I would much prefer if people use their voices and anger and direct it at stormont where they appear to have become quite flippant at the jobs we put them into and they get paid quite well for I may add To pull the place down when so many are destitute
@FullFact
@PeterStefanovi2
So if something said is false then it's a lie. Unless he didn't know it was false. But he is the prime minister and it is his responsibility to fact check before he quotes.... he loves construing the truth and he likely actually believes he is telling the truth.
I had to borrow money. My child is going to post primary and i dont get paid in August or September but still had all my monthly bills on top of a uniform.
People with money dont get it they dont see the reality. And the children they see it, they live it with us.
"Emma Davies who runs the school uniform bank at Trinity Methodist Church in Lisburn
"We have had people coming to us saying they had to get into debt, take Credit Union loans or borrow money off family," she said."
@libbymclibdem
@Psychologicsal
The issue with living on low income is when food costs go up you have zero room for movement in your budget. So when gov give £86 a month is gives some wiggle room now they want to take it away gain. When prices are surging up people can't keep cutting back.
@peterweirmla
Some children are actually afraid to go back to school. They are worried about what they will bring home to vulnerable household members because they don't get to SD or mix with low ratios in class. That was removed by yourself to get schools back. You increased the risk
@DeborahParr
@philsmith20
Yep its per day. It shoukdnt be a question of how much but why. They dont need a food allowance for their lunch. No other working person gets a food allowance we have to buy our own. They get well enough
I am going to set up a just giving page tonight and will share it here and my page. Donations can be used for other children and families for the small things that we just don't think about such as birthday presents and cakes for the children. Thankyou to all for sharing
@ArleneFosterUK
Im sure they wont be hard done by as much as the millions of children the tories have pushed into poverty. Living in cold homes with hungry parents.
Had an amazing 2 days with
@TrussellTrust
participation panel in Birmingham, talking about how we can come together collectively to make our communities better places to live and eradicate the need for foodbanks. Yes its a way off but it is achievable. Lived exp and co-production
@LadySassington
@daisythejones
Or lived somewhere where there is no such thing as cheap own shop labels. So many rural areas have high prices and if your on a low income it becomes twice as bad
@JodieSmitten
@johncosgrove405
Yep even the fact they can't wear a raincoat or coat walking to school. They must be seen in their blazer and wear it then throughout the day soaking wet!!
This little poppet lil Miss is 12 tomorrow. From a time I was told I would never conceive naturally, many years of
#endometreosis
, I gave up. Got stuck in an unhealthy rltshp and got a shock when I got pregnant. I wouldn't change much just when I stopped things! Much quicker

How about you get off twitter and start workingg for the people of N Ireland many still waiting for their energy support. Disgraceful holding people to the line as leverage.
@Matthew_Dillon2
I'm pro-choice, and you are welcome to your view as are women.
What you are not welcome to is inflicting your view on those who choose to terminate. It is their own personal decision and will never impact on your life.
Wouldn't it be so much nicer if you campaigned to remove
So I got the £200 today into my account. Has it created a sense of relief? Absolutely not. It has left me more confused. What am I to do with it🤷♀️ I'm sure it will barely get me 100 litres which on ration I might get 6 wks out of. I'm grateful but for what I duno anymore
@NotaBot1976
No matter how far our politicians say we have progressed. We haven't really when the basic services are being slashed. Families and young people are not getting adequate support to function. And the impact is long lasting.
@DrOliverLewis
@shakespeare_d
Authorities such as social service and education will never be accountable unless there is large scale harm. On a 1 to 1 basis they parent blame and shame. Power play comes out. They believe they are the righteous ones
With Universal credit, even when you are working 30 hours you still are expected to accept their commitments monthly. You still get texts weekly reminding you of your commitments, texts telling you to sign in, and read other messages about job fairs, which all happen yep during
Lil Miss away to her first Disco tonight with her friends. It starts at 8 30 she has text me already.
Mum i dont like this can you lift me please!! Anxiety in children is not fun and as a parent we are always prepared for these requests. Some may say just let them tough it out!
@katie_deegan_
@ElaineYoung94
The display of behaviour on the streets is enough to signal exactly what they await when their partners get home. It's terrifying.
@JolyonMaugham
Do they not carry an expiry date? Most hygienic products such as dressings etc do. This is the government just wasting money to put it in their buddies pockets. If I bought faulty goods I'd be seeking a refund
It appears someone has set up a fake account with my profile and is sharing it with a PayPal address. Please do not send money to anyone. And report them as they have me blocked my account is open a lot longer than today.
@PastoralThings
I've heard of children being told they cannot take part innoffical exams because they have the incorrect shoes on !! Really? Does the examination board know this child is being excluded? Doubt it very much
@Whitstead
@Quilo

See I don't have money and I believe it doesnt buy happiness. What it does is buy peace of mind, security and so much less stress. And possibly a better future for our children. Isnt that what we want for our own to be something and have security.
#Jeremyvine
Oh my that ladies statment.
The poorest get all the help!!
The poorest have been told to sell their cars, cookers and more. Sure whats good for the goose and all that!.
This attitude towards the poorest and lowest paid needs broken! Its keeping the stigma alive
@DarranMarshall
What about the non nationalists and non unionists? Oh do these non people not exist in N Ireland. Im sick of seeing this shite.1 box or the other
@vicderbyshire
@BBCBreakfast
@BBCOne
Nooooo it's not bed poverty fgs. It's POVERTY. If children are like this then parents likely can't afford food, heating and other essentials. Stop breaking down poverty into items
I have an 11 yr old child, i live on the breadline whilst working. I rely on UC to top up my income as a public service worker.
I am encourging my child to consider her work potentail already that will take her away from the UK as i see no safe future for her.
@peterweirmla
@niexecutive
Putting upto 30 children into a classroom is hardly safe? How do they get in without meeting another bubble? How do they avoid children from 2/3 different bubbles meeting in toilets etc? Thought through process we doubt that.
Work and how we are valued. Yes we get vouchers, many don't agree but I could gather up the vouchers and buy my shopping and used wht I normally spend on shopping on my hair! Now monthly, or yearly treat! 3 yearly !!
Taking care of ourselves is NOT a luxury! It's a necessity.
@BelTel
Ironic when he asks why we can't do anything for our own families in poverty when his party is in shared leadership. This man is a numpty. Justifying 1 persons poverty as a means to increase another's is not right nor moral.
