Is now a good time to suggest that we get rid of prizes for children who come to school every day because they happen to have the best immune system in the class or because they were sent in even when they weren’t well? We can’t be encouraging that come Sept.

All parents are proud of their kids reaching milestones but it’s hard to describe when your child has a disability. Today my boy finally managed to learn how to ride his bike. He has spent years trying. He has never looked happier in his whole life & my heart is fit to burst 💕

I was in the audience tonight. Not one ordinary woman affected by the 8th got a chance to speak. The doctors did & lawyers too. The no side treated it like a kind of sick pantomime. It’s our lives, our health on the line yet not one woman hurt by the 8th given a chance. #cblive

I lost my home during the recession. No bailout for my family & thousands of others. Now you say the banks weren’t bailed out? That the bond holders had it just as bad? That all those who had to emigrate left by choice? Have you no idea the pain your party caused Micheál Martin?

Just had a call from a mother of 2 kids under 3 whose landlord has threatened them with eviction if she ever makes changes to the home again without his permission. The changes? Toddler proofing catches on appliances & presses & some family photos up on the wall. I cant deal.

They count HAP as social housing. HAP means the state pays landlords for their privately rented properties instead of building social & affordable homes. In 2019, the state will pay €423m to landlords. How many homes could be built with that? That is ideology. #NoConfidence

Main points are: -Less than 1/3 of overpays were suspected fraud. -40% were ‘customer error’. -15% of all overpays were the fault of the Dept not the recipient. -average overpayment was just €1,500. Now imagine they went after white collar crime with the same vigour?

Hands up who can afford €320,000? Bargain isn’t it? Anyone? Come on! There must be someone? Lots of people making €80k plus surely? Thought this was WWN not IT. #HousingCrisis #CostRental #LockedOutGeneration

Meanwhile, I’m filling in bankruptcy forms as we speak because the vulture fund who took my home, won’t write the last of my debt off. And they wonder why ordinary people are angry? #housingcrisis #SocDems

The Taoiseach was left red-faced after slamming politicians who owe money to the Dail bar – when it was revealed his department was one of the worst offenders.

Thanks a bunch lads. Back to the ball of anxiety in the pit of my stomach each morning as usual then. Renting absolutely sucks in this country. No security of tenure, record high rents. Mortgages are for much lower than avg rents in cities. So much for all being in it together.

Also rejected by the Dáil - @EOBroin bill seeking a blanket three-year ban on rent increases. Government believes that to be unconstitutional too

Got an eviction notice towards end of campaign. Knocked at a door & housing crisis came up-explained my situation & that facing homelessness could be a reason. He said I should just keep my legs crossed. Wife overheard & came out to the door & gave him a clatter round the head.

This is why we have to value climate & social justice principles. My family would have gone without food during austerity times without 2 for 1 deals. Even if you‘ve never been poor, can you at least listen to those of us who have, who are? This is not how we bring everyone along

1st time I experienced sexual assault, I was 14. On a bus full of passengers, a man I didn’t know sat beside me. He was lewd then progressed to touching me. I got away but there were no seats left. I was crying, standing in the aisle. The driver kicked me out. #SarahEverard

Lovely endorsement from Independent @SenLynnRuane . Lynn & I are not under the same political banner but do share a passion for equality & empowerment, particularly for vulnerable, marginalised and oppressed groups. Lynn’s work as part of the Civic Engagement Group in... #GE2020

Like a lot of woman, I felt physically sick when news began circulating yesterday that another woman had been murdered in her own home & footage of what happened was circulating on socials. If this isn’t a watermark on so many levels I don’t know what will

We have lots of problems in this country but immigration ain’t one. Can we please talk about how public money is mismanaged & frequently wasted, why we have 100k houses lying empty, why kids with ASD can’t find a school, why 80 yr olds are waiting in hospital corridors for days?

What we need is to provide decent, affordable & flexible childcare options and legal protection & cultural acceptance by employers & society more generally towards parents so that they don’t feel that they have no choice but to send them in.

This is deeply distressing. I have called for an investigation to find out what happened, who is responsible, whether they will be held accountable for their actions & what if anything we can do to make the current situation better. You have my full support & of my colleagues too

Heartbroken to find tallaghts wetlands completely destroyed today. This was a vibrant multilayered ecosystem, home to protected Newts, Frogs, Bats & critically endangered European eels. @sdublincoco assured us this area & inhabitants would be protected. Environmental vandalism.

This is deeply worrying. Zero covid does not mean a permanent lockdown & they damn well know it. They’re spinning it (misrepresenting) to drive public opinion to their side. This is deeply worrying but absolutely on form and for me, sums up exactly who FF/FG are. # #WeCanBeZero

Week 1 after surgery & Covid has made its way into our house. Everyone except me has a cough, high temp, stuffy nose, body aches & fatigue. My daughter has a horrible pain in her chest & my son is hoarse. Assume they’re all + but only 1 result back so far. It’s far from mild.

It’s been a week since we lost our best girl Poppy. It’s been really difficult, we are all heartbroken. I want to pay special tribute to the @IrishBlueCross who helped us mind her over the past few yrs during times when we had barely a penny spare. Please support them if you can.

€153 pw difference & all because women were forced to stop working once married & women were (and still are) expected to be the main caregiver. We give so much throughout our lifetimes but still get very little back, particularly in old age. #pensiongap

I never believed the state would allow my family to lose our home and essentially hand it over to a vulture fund at below cost price who didn’t even have to pay a penny in tax. That’s what FF and FG have given us. We deserve better. #cblive #socdems #GE2020
