What on earth? How much time do you need to realise he isn’t a dictator. Here’s some helpful points: 1. He won 73% of the vote in 2019 and was preparing for the 2024 election. (Before Russias invasion.) also no country in history carries out elections during an invasion. 2. Opposition politicians and civil society organizations regularly criticize him—which wouldn’t be possible in a dictatorship. 3. Even after the invasion began, opposition figures like Petro Poroshenko and Yulia Tymoshenko remained politically active. Not thrown in jail 4. Ukraine has not shut down independent media, even those critical of Zelensky. 5. Ukraine is still governed by the Verkhovna Rada (parliament), which votes on key issues. Zelensky does not rule by decree without oversight—his decisions require approval from government institutions All of this is symbolic of Zelensky as a wartime leader - not a dictator.
