married to Shana, former state senator now senator
#28
, former election commissioner, cattle rancher/poultry farmer. I think that covers it . Senate district 28
My understanding is the appointment of Jason Rapert to the state library board requires senate confirmation. I informed members that I will object to Jason Rapert appointment at the December meeting. I know many long time republicans who agree .
So to understand the vote on SB 1 today.This would move 700 million dollars to a fund.That fund could be accessed by the Gov and 2/3 vote of Legislative council.That means 41 legislators could spend 700 million dollars on whatever+ 94 legislators would give them the power to do
Please come up here and I will show you what a cleanup is and what a bailout is . Also would be great if you could visit with farmers, non conservatives , that were calling me about and what the State and the company has done to them . Just asking you hear both sides
The Dept. of Ag and the Secretary worked over Thanksgiving within the appropriate scope of government to assist these farmers.
“Conservatives” shouldn’t ask for government bailouts of private businesses on the backs of Arkansas taxpayers.
After this past special session I am convinced that the Freedom of Information should be in the constitution and protected from politicians. I will wait to see the final proposal to see I endorse this measure .
I have been a republican for decades. Was working on campaigns + a county chairman before many in the legislature was even born. Financial budgeting + personal responsibility were cornerstones of what I was taught to be a republican. Clearly tonight those are gone . Sad
To clarify the senate voted before I could get back to the chamber . I have concerns that the retroactive portion would include former Gov. Hutchinson. The other concern is that the bill should have a sunset clause . That would allow the bill to be debated in 2025 session .
Senator Bryan King has written a letter to the Director of the Ar State Senate correcting the record on
#SB10
, the latest FOI bill.
King stated in the letter he had every intention of voting no on this bill, but was out of the chamber at the time of the vote.

@alexahenning
let me clear this up . What I was asking for wasn’t a bailout for farmers. It was the state to assume responsibility for the cleanup , that wasn’t the farmers fault, and hold the responsible company accountable. Much like the stump dump fire .
The Dept. of Ag and the Secretary worked over Thanksgiving within the appropriate scope of government to assist these farmers.
“Conservatives” shouldn’t ask for government bailouts of private businesses on the backs of Arkansas taxpayers.
@jasonrapert
voted for soft on crime bills , catch and release bills in 2011 , 2015, 2017 . Also revenue stabilization bills that kept corrections underfunded . See below for the bills . This crisis was caused by Raperts votes
Step up and lead
@GregLeding
- Make the appropriation and help. Stop being nothing but a clashing gong and do something. As always, you are all talk and no action. Arkansas families want criminals to be incarcerated and not released on our streets to harm others again, and again,
What’s shocking is republicans , despite staggering increase in crime , failed to fund corrections and crime prevention. Have no clue about budgets but all they know is slander .
When Gov Hutchinson was releasing literally thousands of criminals where were you guys ? Corrections was underfunded, by your rsa votes, and too many voted for soft on crime bills.why no outrage then?
@BartHester
@DavidARay
@MikeWickline
need proof?let’s look at 2017 session
As a decades Republican we must move on from attention grabbers from either side. Sadly republicans like Sen Rapert are really big spenders. Also at the end of the his term AR was rated worst in violent crime. Republicans like him want to get the focus off issue like these.
Now we're cooking with gas!
@BryanBKing
introduced SB 8 in Arkansas. It would make it a felony for any pharma executive to conceal info about vaccine harm if someone dies as a result of it.

Meeting planned for lobbyist and legislators regarding the Buffalo River
According to State Senator, Bryan King, R-Green Forest, who represents Madison County in District 28, lobbyist from the Runway Group plan to meet with local legislators on Oct. 20.
Oped in the
@ArkansasOnline
on the Buffalo river issue. One,of the many, glaring flaws in their piece is that billions will flow to the Buffalo river if they change the park designation. Seriously billions of dollars!Ukraine , Israel and now the Buffalo getting billions
I was not made aware of these discussions of changing the Buffalo river designation at any time . The runway group said they have no plans to move forward at this time .
This is when Jason cosponser a disaster bill with Jeremy Hutchinson in 2015. Wasted Tax payer dollars on a consultant that only led Arkansas into a worse crime situation. When Jason was in office thousnds of hard criminals were released early .
The vaccine harm and homicide bill passed the senate with 33 votes . One senator voted present . This would hold a big pharma executive criminally responsible if they knowing mislead,hides,omits documentation that the vaccine has dangerous effects.
When the opinion page
@ArkansasOnline
said billions of federal dollars would flow to the Buffalo river after changing the name I questioned it.I wrote the federal is first response.
@NWAGreg
. Let’s not mislead, but have honest and transparent discussion
@ARGOP
Kentucky should be a wake up call . Big Government, corruption, cronyism , major mismanagement of taxpayers money,making it harder for citizens to know or challenge what their government does, protecting big money special interest .Real hard working people lose fatih .
There was strong opposition to any changes to the

Republicans for years have been underfunding corrections and crime prevention. Now it’s a crisis and any mention of their bad votes and spending choices is an unhealthy bringing up the past. Guess you can’t hold them accountable. How immature
Revenue down from last year, sales tax collections more due to inflation, Arkansas worst spenders compared to other states, more reliance on fed govt deficit spending . Arkansas legislature answer
Stop and think about it America
Your future is in the hands of a legislative branch motivated by hate, power, lobbyists, special interest groups,greed and vendettas
And thats a hell of a way to run a railroad
TERM LIMITS!!!
This soft on crime,catch +release has been going on for years.This was 2016 when Gov Hutchinson was releasing thousands early.Too many kept their mouth shut are yelling now.This crime crisis is on republicans who didn’t fund corrections and passed weak legislation on crime!
It’s election year
@AsaHutchinson
is “cutting “ spending now after being the all time Record spender the past three years . Get ready folks you are going to hear bs till the election year is over .
Unfortunately the media of the day care about as little about truth as they do covering up for their heros and destroying those who disageee with them.
But a day is coming,
You shall know the truth and the truth will set you free!
We need a clear/open discussion on medcaid +medcaid spending.That can’t happen when politicians use misleading scare tactics.The truth is big insurance big medcaid is running the show n Little Rock.
@AsaHutchinson
@JimHendren1
have been protecting the big insurance Medicaid exp
I knew Medicaid spending was unsustainable in 2016. Also
@AsaHutchinson
was prioritizing massive Medicaid spending increases while neglecting highways +reducing crime. Instead of listening or negotiating gov executed a line item veto scheme to get around debate + constitution.
@NWAGreg
I am hoping
@NWAGreg
can show where billions of federal dollars will flow to the Buffalo . Being with a newspaper he should be able to produce the facts backing this up .
The whole campus/enhanced carry bill was a debacle . The bill was rammed through without care or forethought about its impact. This bill needs to be broke down and redone.
No
@johnbrummett
trump won the system set up by the founding fathers. But speaking of statistics with ur endorsed candidates sucking the bottom I will start referring to u as last place columnist John Brumment
So
@JanMorgan_
says
@AsaHutchinson
spends like a democrat.
@AsaforAR
actually spends more than a Democrat. Gov Hutchinson has raised Gov bb’s all time Record spending level for 3 consecutive years.he spends more than the last democrat Gov n medcaid + total spending. Fact ! Truth!
Eliza Gaines, president of the Arkansas Press Association and Neal Gladner, president of the of the Arkansas Broadcasters Association, testified against the new bill that would restrict public access to certain government records.

As stated then 2016 medcaid spending was unsustainable + massive waste fraud abuse at dhs . Just a few months later
@AsaHutchinson
at the farm bureau convention said medcaid spending was unsustainable. It’s all n black and white
@AsaHutchinson
.
@loulou6685
@NateBell4AR
On the third bill I remember questioning if a state police or security detail was mentioned or copied in a email . The security portion could be redacted but not any other information that was subject to foia
I have been saying for years big insurance/Medicaid have been running the show in Little Rock.Been saying cronyism + corruption has been rampant.
@JimHendren1
+ the Hutchinsons opposed transparency laws that would have exposed personal money between big medcaid +legislators
@gregleding
We may disagree on what should be done with conceal carry but I totally agree with ur assessment on how this enhanced carry debacle was handled .
About to be on
@paulharrell1776
. Will be taking about the campus/enhanced carry debacle. One of the many flaws of the legislation was forcing ccl instructors to charge only a nominal fee. Inexcusable to put that n any legislation. That was a slap n the face to these ppl...
Despite the cold ole brownie is still going . 42 years of feeding cattle . There is nothing that can stop this old truck . I say that because it doesn’t have any brakes . Lookout !
Parenting 1978: "Say that again and I'll wash your mouth out with soap!" Parenting 2018: "Please don't put that detergent pod in your mouth. Come on now"
And yes multiple times tried to expose the personal financial dealings between legislators and medcaid entities . I am just not going to get in the monkey cage with bob and Nate . But again welcome news media to cover .
Agriculture is taking blows not seen since the Great Depression. Sadly the Secretary of Agriculture
@Wesley__Ward
only cares about cutting county fairs while sending your tax dollars to his buddies. Also will not stand up for the ranchers and farmers .
@THV11
@JanMorgan_
@AsaHutchinson
@AsaHutchinson
is the all time biggest spender in Arkansas history.All time biggest spender of medicaid dollars for the time he has been n office.Big spenders like him have put the state budget n trouble +he has no solutions to solve basic govt functions.No solutions only talk
It’s time to have full disclosure on personal transactions between legislators , medcaid entities , and any entity that received gif funds in the past five years.Failure to disclose is trying to hide the truth from taxpayers.
@NWADoug
@mcrecordonline
It is difficult for Bob Ballinger and his supporters to defend his relationship with the Ecclesia scandal that has caused so much harm to rural communities due to the loss of the General Improvement Funds.
@liz1961
As far as being on an island down there that is correct . The fiscal , budget and personal responsibility cornerstones are gone in the Republican Party.
@DavidMeeks
@donniecopeland
Oh good lord. If u spend 10 dollars one year . Then u say ur going to spend 12 dollars the next year but then change and say ur spending 11 dollars. Then u still r SPENDING more by SPENDING 1 dollar more. Only if u spend nine dollars rather than ten dollars will u SAVE money.
At the last legislative council meeting I warned DFA and legislators about their out of control dependency on the federal govt. All these state “surpluses “ were created by this 👇. Not by smart budgeting . This is by “conservative “ liars . Now it’s coming to roost
Here we go again folks. Spending less than you original estimated but still spending more is not a cut .
@AsaHutchinson
is in election mode which means more mislead and deceive.
closing prisons despite experiencing a crime crisis.Look at the last 3 years + compare medcaid increases to corrections.
@AsaHutchinson
@JimHendren1
say we don’t have the money to keep bad ppl locked up but can find money to pay big insurance billions.
@JanMorgan_
@MikeWickline
@NWADoug
Imagine if Medicaid disclosure bills would of been passed years ago . Who fought those bills? Who protected legislators that were pocketing huge amounts of tax payer dollars ?
@JBarkerAR
@JanMorgan_
Let’s talk about something it affects the taxpayers .
@AsaforAR
@AsaHutchinson
n 2016 said that taking ppl off obama care Medicaid expansion would hurt state budget. Now since it’s election year Gov has taking ppl off saves money. Speaking of being blocked i tried repeatedly..
@BlueHogReport
Wardlaw fought against every medicaid disclosure bill I filed . Now it comes out. Kudos to this reporter but this was know at the Captiol for years
Former Speaker of the House Tip O’Neil said all politics is local . Sadly all politics seems national. We need to support local and independent journalism.
Hear hear! “Local journalism has long been at the center of democracy, telling our stories and documenting a community’s life, and now it needs our support.” VOICES: Local journalism needs our support
Arkansas Legislature: we must hold a special session to modify our open container laws, so we can spend $12 million on highways
Elsewhere in AR: $30 million for highways is no big deal
Yes Jim hendren voted every year to keep corrections underfunded . This crisis didn’t just pop up . Jim exponentially increased spending in other areas of state govt while underfunding corrections. Despite overwhelming evidence.
N 2016 I said state was spending us into financial doom. 16 appropriation bill set record spending limits. I had budget facts to prove my point.
@AsaHutchinson
would not listen instead falsely I wanted to shutdown dhs. Months later gov said Medicaid spending was unsustainable.
It's not fair that bitcoin operators receive special protections under Arkansas law, said state Sen. Bryan King. "They’re in a protected class more than any other business out there."

Been around while and know political word deception games . Beats forecast , the real truth is state is setting all time record highs on state and federal spending. Said back when rsa was rubber stamped that exponentially increasing spending at this time is irresponsible
Slower income growth and income tax cuts led to lower general revenues for the state in September, but the month’s collections beat the state’s forecast
