@2StefanMoore
Hi Stefan - this is our 7 year old Marc Patterson who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia over three years ago. We are blessed that he’s made it through the treatment so far and we are absolutely here for any parents who need any advice/help/shoulder to cry on.
Tomorrow - Marc gets his port a cath removed under general anaesthetic. He’s now finished 3 1/2 years of daily chemo and procedures. A hard road for him, his siblings and parents. We are truly blessed thanks to his incredible team at QE in Glasgow. Thank you everyone. ❤️
This wee man has the heart of a lion - 1.5 hours in theatre yesterday to replace his cath a port so the docs can delivery his chemo - parents exhausted but home for the weekend - 3 years done and finishes treatment in April - 90 not out with wickets in hand - perspective folks 😍
A special day for our family - our sincere thanks to Professor Gibson and the amazing medical team and nurses at the Shiellaion unit in Glasgow QE for all they have done for Marc - we are truly humbled

This bill has destroyed women’s rights in Scotland, against the wishes of the majority of the population. Shame on Sturgeon and the SNP for their despicable actions today.
Utterly gutted for the Scotland Squad, coaches and back room staff. I’ve been there and it hurts like hell. Both teams should be at WC. Well played lads a valiant effort in the face of incredible odds. You should all be very proud of yourselves.

Who wants to take a chef to India ? Best food in the world. Another example of a ECB profligacy when could be better spent on grass roots cricket.
Today - after over three years - Marc gets last intravenous dose of chemotherapy and five day course of steroids which makes him extremely cranky and starving all the time however we are blessed compared to many.

I read Gordon’s autobiography aged 12 - still hard to believe I got to bat with him 20 years later in professional cricket even if he did take my opening slot. Tom Black is another of my cricket heroes - hated facing him and he took the piss out of me constantly.
Like many past players I’m distraught at the current state of Scottish Cricket and the continued division which is so negative. This photon reminded me of why I loved the game. A good game, a few runs and having a chat with the Rac after the game who helped me so much
Forgive the self indulgence but I remember my second cap for the support and advice of two great people - Douglas Haggo who pulled me away from the bar when 60 not out overnight and Omar Henry who sat me down after the game and told me this is where the hard work really starts.
Hard to believe I got to coach for a few days alongside legends Sir Gary Sobers and Mike Whitney in Hobart, Tasmania 1989. Brilliant cricket stories from both and two of the nicest blokes you could ever meet. Whit asked if he could bowl at me in the nets for an hour - yessir !
First of eight winters in NZ and Oz age 19 years old. Arrived as a bowler and within two weeks told to forget it. Took up a spare opening slot and off we go - shared a house with Brendon Bracewell and a Māori bloke Roger whose dad was a rugby legend. Hard yakka !
@AamerAnwar
Magnificent ceremony - proud to be Scottish and British and so grateful to be enjoying the freedom ours ancestors fought and died for. Respect 🎩
Found this mental skills checklist in my old kit bag which took me back - I would argue that assuming a high level of fitness and solid technique any player can succeed if they master the mental skills of batting - in fact I would say 90% of the game is played above the shoulders
@CricketScotland
Congratulations on an amazing career Kyle and being such a fantastic ambassador and role model for Scottish Cricket - good luck with the next chapter and hope you can continue to inspire the next generation of youngsters
Wee Marc back in town after a nasty infection. Off up North for the weekend to get some R & R - and my cricket pals will,be pleased to know Mrs P has banned me from twitter for weekend 🥶🏴🍺🥘

Absolutely incredible attitude from Michael - no complaints, no whingeing just a determined singular focus on sheer weight of runs - mental strength/champion mindset/no excuse mentality - keep going champ don’t give it away
Bruce Russell pictured second from left was one of the best all round sportsmen I played with and don’t remember him ever dropping a catch a- note his hand position in the slip cordon compared to the rest of us - relaxed and perfect balance
Hi Folks - just a note to say I’m giving Twitter a break - was hoping it was a platform for healthy debate not finding it overly constructive or positive. Good luck and good health to all connections including those who share different views.
@phoffmann555
I played cricket alongside John Blain for many years within the Scotland set up. He is a tremendous athlete and genuine fast bowler who gave hisall. Never in my entire career did I ever hear a racist comment from him. I wish his bowling partner the late great Asim Butt was here.
@SkyNews
Sorry Mick this is called overplaying your hand - striking for a better deal is one thing - ruining peoples Xmas holidays and crippling small business during the important festive trading period another
@CricketScotland
A hugely respected cricketer and successful businessman who fought his way into the national team when Scotland made the difficult transition from amateur to playing full time professional teams with overseas Test players. Great company and a fierce competitor. RIP Willie.
@YesScot
Rejoining the EU would mean surrendering control of monetary policy - an “ independent “ Scotland couldn’t set interest rates or print money according to its own needs. Didn’t work out too well for the Greeks
Scotland v Pakistanis in 1992
Happy Birthday to the great Waqar Younis - terrifying to face but an absolute gentleman off the pitch. Very proud to have faced the great man and chat to him after the game at Titwood.

Great bowler- I would say up there with the best we had. Loyal team mate and very annoying room mate, Wicked sense of humour - loved and respected by all. RIP Asim Buut legend, ❤️
@SkyCricket
Punter simply the best on commentary - sees things others don’t and always comes up with a solution, brilliant cricket brain and both him and Nasser are top drawer
@runoutracism
Sorry guys this comes across as patronising and unhelpful. The issue of raising the important issue of racism need to be completed separated from the immature ad hominem attacks on John Blain over something that may or may not have been said in a dressing room 15 years ago.
@sportscotland
Always cricket - no mention of other sports - nice to have a scapegoat - kind of takes the heat off those publicly funded Sport Scotland jobs doesn’t it
@TeleCricket
@willis_macp
Nope, not the same - reverse ramping is 100% pre meditated - edging to slip isn’t. Having to change grip and stance then hoping the ball from worlds best fast bowler is in the right place is high risk. Hitting to the sight screen down the ground on a flat one less so. IMHO

As a 12 year old my dad took me to see you hit that famous on drive to reach 100 100s. It inspired me to make my way in the game and I was lucky enough to score 40 at Headingly - Scotland v Yorkshire in the Nat West cup and you came in to our dressing room - dream come true

This is a really tough read Hoffy - had no idea how bad this was. - sending love and support to JB and praying for a positive outcome for all involved in our great game,
This is an important message from Paddy for all sportspeople. It’s important to realise your performance/results/career are only a partial reflection of who you are. Defining yourself in this way stops you from moving on to the next chapter in a positive way.

Garbage 90% of voters are against it. You rushed it through without proper consultation and now will have to pay the price.
Fielding at silly point with Jimmy Govan bowling v Ireland at Myreside 1990. A massive appeal but was given not out but Im still convinced my namesake Mr Patterson nicked it lol.

Absolutely plumb ! - great to have a genuine quick in our ranks and Blainy on top form had serious wheels. Philpy kept wicket to him in a night game in Sharjah pre season and we were miles back. Serious cricketer and great team mate.

One bad day on a flat one after back to back test matches - have you ever tried bowling fast - give the guy a break and some credit to Crawley for an amazing Test match innings

No arrogance whatsoever- just the resilience and self belief you need as a professional sportsman to deal with the incredible scrutiny played out in the media

Practice against a new ball instead - get more side on - front foot pointing to cover will help - bigger stride in to nullify new ball movement - imho

That’s very kind - no amount of money can buy respect from your peers. It was what I played for - to be able to hold my own at first class level. I would do it all again for nothing - not a penny. To all my coaches and captains and I mean all - thank you for putting up with me
@HitmanHatton
Inspirational Ricky - your story will help so many and just might be your greatest achievement ever - helping so many others come to terms with mental health struggles - a subject kept taboo for so long - congratulations Champ

Unfortunately - will put even more pressure on the private rental sector which will push up rents - in turn even more pressure on local authority to provide accommodation which will push up council tax

When I started Ian Phillip told me all selectors were useless and favoured Edinburgh teams. The only way to stay selected was through sheer weight of runs. - a batsman’s currency is runs and a bowlers currency is wickets. No one gets dropped when their scoring hundreds.
