The mindset that any exposure to kink harm's children can and *has* been weaponized in courts of law.
People have lost jobs and custody battles over being kinky (I don't mean having kinky sex in front of kids.)

My PhD research is on how to assess for abuse in BDSM without kink shaming. If all BDSM is considered abuse by default, that actually impedes effective abuse response, and can prevent survivors from coming forward for fear of being shamed or blamed.
I doubt anyone who follows me needs to hear this, but: BDSM is not abuse. Abuse is abuse. Sometimes BDSM is done in an abusive way. Sometimes vanilla sexual activities are done in an abusive way. Abuse is not inherent to BDSM. Informed and ongoing consent is always key.
