There’s also a convincing argument that filling in Kamala now is the best possible outcome. Avoids the damaging controversy of a prolonged contested primary if Biden had dropped out earlier and just about every wing of the party would rally around Kamala and her VP pick now.
These are scary times, but if you take the pov that Biden was already headed for a loss pre-debate (as polls tended to show), there’s a case the debate was positive. This was the opportunity we needed for a reboot. This is the most engaged in the election we’ve seen people so far
