I completely get why Klopp is tired of dealing with the media. The question for this response was looking for a headline, and his full answer was praised by both Ian Wright & Dwight Yorke. These are taken out of the larger portion of the response purely for clicks.

🚨 Klopp: “A lot of things went against us”. “This referee gave me red card against City for wrestling situation - Bernardo & Salah”. “Today same with Jota that didn’t get a red card. Unbelievable”. “Holding by Havertz on Konate… Gabriel did same with Nunez, no yellow card”.

In my opinion, these are both goals that deserve to stand, but only one did. It’s actually quite comical that it took 3 days from the Endo incident to have a fixture with the same referee give the same goal that they took away at a crucial stage in a final.

Just imagine this chapter(s) in his life. Scouser through & through, went all the way up through the academy, slotted himself into a club Legend’s XI by playing out of position & reinventing the right-back position, setting records & winning the lot. I’d be overwhelmed too.

This is the perfect way of describing what Liverpool do, its risky. There is no thought process to helping the backline if a bad possession loss happens & that’s why LFC fans wax lyrical about how good VVD/Konate/Ali are.

Sometimes it’s as simple as just playing forward really quickly. We pass less through the middle to make sure we don’t have any dangerous turnovers. Liverpool just don’t care and trust Van Dijk/Konate.

LFC’s level won’t be good enough without Thiago being fit imo. There were 2 protagonists for the 2021/22 title run-in. One was KDB.The other was not Salah,VVD,Trent or Mané. It was Thiago. Feb-May 2022 period is where LFC controlled games better than any other period in Klopp era.

Roberto Firmino will always be one of the most under-rated attackers of his generation. Football is about connectivity, rhythm, being able to make the pieces come together in a unit that leaves teams helpless to defend against it. A truly unique profile of player.

Bargain. The lanky, marauding, slaloming partner to Virgil. The runs he’d make, the players he’d shut down, was constantly overshadowed by his defensive partners greatness, but was a crucial part of Klopp’s Liverpool backbone, bought on a free. Will never forget his impact.

That entire 120 mins, I believe, has done absolute wonders for Virgil van Dijk’s legacy. Scored a disallowed goal, didn’t moan about it at all despite not doing anything wrong in the situation, is stellar defensively throughout, & bags a winner on a ball he MADE his in the air.

No reasonable person with a working brain thinks this explanation makes any sense whatsoever. You’re telling me Darren England saw Diaz stop celebrating, Spurs players readying to take their freekick at the spot of the offside, and thought “well must’ve been a goal then.”
@DaleJohnsonESPN
Dale Johnson

So the VAR, Darren England, checked offside thinking the onfield decision was "goal." It was a quick offside check because it was clear Diaz was onside, so he told the referee "check complete". In telling the ref "check complete" he is saying the onfield decision was correct.

It was nice to see Curtis Jones back today, he’s the kind of press resistant midfielder the squad needs right now bc when the combo of Mac & Endo don’t play, you definitely see cracks start to form in the midfield.

Nunez tracking back at 9-1 up on aggregate is the reason we all love him. Guy works his socks off every game regardless of situation.

THREAD: With Roberto Firmino ready to move on from his fantastic time with the Reds, I thought I’d make a little tribute thread to him. He is, and always will be, my favourite player of the Klopp era. Here’s more than just a few reasons why.

You could definitely think I’m wrong in this instance, but if its going to be a disallowed thing to block players off when the player is offside you gotta at least be consistent with it. Personally, I just think we’re too focused on nitpicking goals to chalk them off right now.

Van Dijk letting the Sheffield United player see the whole of the goal & last minute tackling intervention is just peak VVD. He’s done that a million times even when it looks like he’s left it too late.

Ollie Watkins moves to 16 goals in the PL this season, just a single goal off Haaland. What a year he’s having.

One of the more underrated goals of the Klopp era from a pure degree of difficulty standpoint. Swivel mid-air & control into a near post finish, just insane. Gotta also factor in that this game was heading into a goalless stalemate in the runaway title season.

Stunning goal. Quansah does so well breaking the lines himself, Nunez is immediately sure of who he’s finding & Mac takes his touch & smashes it with a little deflection. Regardless, its a great team goal & they’ve been on the hunt for it last 10 minutes.

Quansah handled that 2v1 with the overlapping winger like he’s seen it all before. 10/10.

Alright I get it now, Gakpo’s a LW. No question about it a player who prefers cutting in with his back/left-side to the sideline.

Jurgen Klopp: “We have only been ahead of them [City] once properly and then we won it, & that was by 25 points before Covid kicked in & these wonderful people wanted to null & void the league. I forgot Ferdinand was front-footed on that & I gave him an interview the other day!

This has to be satire. Literally the only proven & near-perfect part of technology in football.

🚨❌ JUST IN: No goal line technology in La Liga next season. Javier Tebas & La Liga don’t want to pay the €3M fee for it. @ellarguero

Too much discourse over which individual is better is based off of team achievement. It seems alot of people don’t quite get how difficult getting the flow of an 11-man team down & finding your best possible self in that system is. It leads to a lot of black & white discussion.

I know Salah was upset he got taken off vs Sheffield United but he’s been beyond wasteful lately. Haven’t seen him take a half-chance in a while which we all know he’s capable of.

The proof is in the pudding. Liverpool aren’t at their best when they have to dominate possession like this, its when there attacks show sharp directness, which they seriously lacked today.

Nothing funny about this. One of the biggest bedrocks of the sport is to show respect in the good & especially the bad moments, it shows your true character. At the end of the day you will never always win & this gesture from Poch & his boys is admirable.

Kevin de Bruyne is the better AM & Steven Gerrard is the better all-around midfielder. I think its preposterous to assume either footballer is head over heels better than the other, its very subjective. That’s where I sit on the debate.

Took him months to figure out how to perfectly insert himself in this team & he does his job so incredibly consistent now. Break up play, retain the ball, move it to the playmakers, & avoid costly mistakes. Really amazing what he’s turned into as the seasons developed.

Wataru Endo vs. Man City 96% Pass accuracy 1 Chance created 6/7 Duels won 4/4 Tackles won 2 Interceptions 6 Recoveries The best 6 in the world might have played at Anfield today but he wasn't the best 6 on the pitch. Another sensational Endo performance.
