Gini Wijnaldum.
From a confused winger at Newcastle to one of the best controlling midfielders in the world.
The significance he had on Fabinho, Liverpool’s midfield and his crucial role in 4-3-3.
Jürgen Klopp’s pursuit for his legs should crop up now or never.
THREAD 🧶
There’s a distinction between a good manager and a good coach.
Look at the difference in reactions between Klopp and Arteta when a player misses a chance.
Jürgen Klopp is the only manager in the premier league history to have won Manager of the Month award 5 times in a single season along with Manager of the season.
You are sick if you don’t want him to score. Look at the smiles in the dugout and the eruption of Anfield.
It’s gonna be the most heartwarming story ever if he does score in a special moment.
Donaueschingen, Jürgen Klopp and Mission 23/24.
Why did Jürgen Klopp choose a quiet town in South west Germany, how is this camp connected to his famous 2010 to 2012 success at Dortmund?
• New energy, Vitality and Hope with youthful squad.
BRIEF THREAD
Job Done. Results matter now more than performances. Make that 26 points now from losing positions but just for nerves, we can’t keep doing that for the remaining 9 games.
Anyway that was beautiful from Mac Allister
Mo never ignores a run-in-behind into the 6-yard box. Clinical directness. We might be fine but we will surely miss this when he’s away. I’m not sure if Harvey, Dom, Cody or Jota on the right can do it.
This is brutal and it’s key to Klopp’s football.
We need to have a conversation on Ryan Gravenberch.
How he uses his long legs to a distinct advantage, Aerial and Ground 1v1 dominance and his mesmerizing Cruyf/L-turn.
All that adds an element of artistry to his game. 🎨

8 hours in and still in shock. How am i going to celebrate every goal and listen to every presser knowing the captain is leaving the ship anyway. 💔
Absolutely devastating and unbelievable news that actually caught me off guard.😭
Klopp’s Full Thoughts on the game.
• The worst game we played but still won”
• The players, Curtis, Harvey, Gomez “Oh My God” and Cody
• Mo Salah, “We carried the 200 shirt for 2 weeks.”
Fabio Carvalho can be our Muisala, Wirtz or even the answer to Diaz questions. He has everything to be a starter under Klopp, only thing letting him down is his character.
I’d even suggest not to re-loan him. I can see him as an inside forward/LW on paper and compete with Diaz.
Midfield pairing that complement each other don’t come often but when they do, they take the team to a whole new level.
Iniesta+Xavi, Viera+Petit/Silva, Alonso+Gerrard, Gullit+Rijkaard, Scholes+Keane etc.
Here’s why i think we’ve found one.

Pep Lijnders: 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲.
“People say Liverpool are good at this or at that but I always say the main thing we are good at, is that we are always together.” …
While both(Coach/Manager) focus on results, growth and development is what a manager lacks.
Arteta wants to shape a culture, build a young team and asks for a supportive atmosphere but can’t nurture individual growth. Impossible.
Mikel forgot to take notes from Klopp after Pep.
VVD and JOEL : The bully duo.
Despite Konate being a better pair with Van Dijk in 1v1 situations, Matip has been underrated in many areas including aerial duels and availability all while he is a silent leader.
Van Dijk- “i wish i had Matip’s quality”
Georginio Wijnaldum was one of the most underrated players in Liverpool’s history and deserved to be treated as a club legend. He performed his role to a flawless standard, despite that resulting in a lack of personal recognition and significantly worse individual stats.

Harvey Elliot is a true definition of Flexibility and Adaptability. Very comfortable in any phase of the pitch no matter the game state. Doesn’t ask himself “Why am i here?” or “Am I supposed to be here?”. Puts himself in a situation where the ball looks for him.
He’s the one.
Imagine being in Liverpool Academy, looking up to Stevie, Trent, Curtis, Harvey and having these as the first team Coaches.
Literally the best Coaches they could ask for.
THE ARDA GULER HYPE IS REAL 🔥🇹🇷
Another night and I’m impressed. He didn’t start but he surely took over the show for the final 30 minutes.
Playing as a free role at just 18y/o is really surprising.
Just £18M fee. Give this kid JÜRGEN KLOPP.
Took my time and paid close attention to 72 minutes of Arda Guler tonight for Turkey 🇹🇷.
If Liverpool or any other Club’s scouts were watching him tonight, they’ll be triggering the £18M fee tomorrow.
•Played as a free role and he was unstoppable.
Extreme Talent.

Trent Alexander-Arnold speaks about Man United and says he expects a tight game on Sunday because they’re anticipating to kickstart their season by getting a result at Anfield before he began stating he preferred the 5-0 away win than the 7-0 home win.
His selflessness to do such a thing combined with the consistency and quality of the job he did on a weekly basis is nothing short of inspirational.
His future at the football club was up only due to a dispute in contract negotiations.
Jürgen Klopp: Winning Philosophy or Way of Life.
When asked for his secret, he said, “It’s not really a philosophy; it’s just a way of life.”
So, what is Jürgen Klopp’s way of life and what can we learn from it.

Klopp post match comments on young lads, Gravenberch and Endo.
on Endo, “He had a good game, really good, his passing wise, how he broke the lines, how he found half spaces. I’m happy for him. Thats why i said the right player scored.”
Klopp’s AfterMatch verdict:
“For 76 minutes we played a really bad football game... Our subs this season pretty much make the difference all the time."
I can’t even count the amount of times Henderson received the ball in that space and thought 10x on what to do or waited for an overlap.
Barella, Valverde, Veiga or Szoboszlai, I’ll only take one of these top players in that RCM.
I thought I’d have a train of thought and look back on how valuable Gini Wijnaldum was for Klopp’s system (playing as 6, left 8 and right 8), give out a few of his crucial instances, who tried to and who can step into the breach.
Enjoy!.
but fits none like it did for Wijnaldum.
Naby Keïta came in for £52M to play the same role but wasn’t able to displace Gini. Wijnaldum was the primary reason Liverpool’s unit was compact as he stayed central to do multitude work.
“Can you imagine our midfield, our new players, then they have Thiago Alcantara in the middle, guiding them with his experience, the way he passes, the way he moves. Everything.”
Everything about Elliot seem to be improving significantly-his ball control/carrying, passing accuracy and decision making.
There’s also a certain attribute that makes him so unpredictable; his agility and movements in exploiting spaces
I’d hate to press such a player.
1/5🧵
To the naked eye, it looked like Fabinho is a horrible DM because players are running around him easily, when in reality that couldn’t be further from the truth. He is tasked with defending too much space. However, when Wijnaldum played, these holes did not appear in the midfield
Liverpool’s midfield is notorious for its work ethic and athleticism. They’re often criticised individually for their lack of creativity, when in reality their role is a selfless contribution to the overall team. This description was applied to all of Liverpool’s midfielders.
Allow me to say this but if by any way Jürgen Klopp sat down and decided to completely ditch his famous 4-3-3 is because he missed the legs of Gini.
His role and record in this set up was insanely underrated.
I loved every single bit of this.
Szobo and Macca pinning 9 men Westham behind the ball at Zone 14, Robo/Curtis & Gomez holding width, Diaz supporting target man(Darwin), Salah’s hold up play and stimulating Darwin after the miss.
#LIVWHU
No hesitation from the journalists, straight away asked Klopp about Alonso’s decision.
"I can speak about a young manager being at a club where he's doing really well. I did pretty much the same, and never regretted it. I can understand."
Gegenpressing is all about setting traps.
Jürgen Klopp faced Villa’s build up with a 4-2-4 press and it was mostly successful because Salah, Darwin, Curtis/Szobo and Diaz were actively positioned forcing Villa to make sloppy passes.
#KloppTrap
Is it possible for a winger to be at his best while he is expected to play as an inverted winger, orthodox winger and dutch brand winger all at once?
Does his current role, the dutch-brand wing play/target man support, suit him?
Let’s talk about Luis Diaz. 🧶
With a youthful squad and a crucial season ahead, what are Klopp’s demands?
- Physical football, High volume and intensity training, Possession+Quick Counter Football, Reliving winning mentality and of course the Heavy metal football.
Gravenberch and Wataru is the latest definition of experience beats talent. Sometimes it’s better to gain a treasure trove of knowledge overtime than the natural aptitude of a player.
Both never had the pre-season with us and Endo quickly settled with the intensity unlike Grav.
THIS IS A STATEMENT SIGNING.
Of course £35M for Alexis Mac Allister was a bargain but letting 4 of our first team players leave for FREE and triggering €70M r/c for Szoboszlai really is a revelation of how much Jürgen Klopp pushed his bosses hard.
You are looking at a man who not only is he earning his place, proving the doubters wrong but is a fighter who is improving alot in his work rate and teamwork.
Attribute Focus : Pressing/Dropping deep/dangerous movements.
Darwin Núñez 🧵⬇️
Here is another example when Liverpool gave the ball away. As you can see, Wijnaldum is already there to stop the counter attack, or in other words, he’s solving problems before they become one.
Jürgen Klopp and Singapore’s LONG-HAUL FLIGHTS.
According to a health specialist, How does this long tour disrupt an intensity training team like Klopp’s?
• Without entirely calling it off due to its lucre, This time Jürgen decided to reschedule it.
BRIEF THREAD
Remember when Jürgen Klopp signed Robertson from the blue for just £8M when he was 23 in 2017 and some fans were in dismay unclear of his abilities.
Today, he broke the PL record for most assists by a defender.
Jürgen knows Donaueschingen well, having taken his Borussia Dortmund team there in 2009.
His team achieved a considerable success that yielded two Bundesliga titles and the German Cup the following years.
One position we were craving to orchestrate, One position Klopp bravely risked this season and who would’ve thought we will be here with this man.
I’m really glad this was our first signing. Technically the very best thing that has happened to us.
Alexis Mac Allister 👏
The biggest and most important change from last year's pre-season is the training camps, now it’s in Donaueschingen, Germany, a town Jürgen chose.
It will be an intense week of conditioning in secluded surroundings, as opposed to last summer's trip to Singapore.
Mac Allister’s role has become a bit hotter to analyze.
Too slow to be an 8/10 but too clever draw/entice fouls or press aggressively.
Then too magnetic to a card in 6 but too clever to orchestrate an attack from deep or link the midfield to attack.
A double-edged sword.
it’s then the way Jürgen wants to put things scientifically.
Long hours, two sessions a day, full concentration with peace, quiet and good vibes while the boys build their chemistry.
NOT MUCH DISTRACTION.
His sole focus was to attract a press to create space further up the pitch before either dribbling past his man, finding a player in space, or passing to somebody with a better angle.
Very few, if any, midfielders in football world can keep the ball like Wijnaldum can.
WOW!
I really liked Gabri Veiga but I understand it all comes down to versatility and who solves more/what.
Dominik Szoboszlai seems to be bringing more to the table than Veiga i.e Dribbling, Operating from both wings and Worldliness/Know-how.
A huge weekend ahead.
Elliot is a very calm and collected player, contributes a lot more to the overall team than Szobo/Grav.
He isn’t more direct, waits for a perfect pass and hates to lose possession. The kind of the player who can naturally out-turn a game.
𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗟
Everything about Elliot seem to be improving significantly-his ball control/carrying, passing accuracy and decision making.

Gakpo and Harvey on the right last night has been a lethal combo largely because of this style and their intelligent movements.
Chaos, instrumental, relationism and mesmerizing football.
It’s becoming a rhythm for us now and oppositions are failing to stop it.
Jürgen Klopp believes you build resilience by pushing players to their physical limits even if this will risk potential injuries but with the quest of optimum performance.
Without risk, there’s no reward.
