All the credit for this goes to Blake James. He identified BOB in 2022. Got vibes back to BOB of BC’s interest. Was the first choice and pretty much only choice. Lots of hard talks and negotiation but it got done. Every BC fan owes Blake James a pat on the back.

1. One thing I did find out today is that BC has extended the contract of women’s lax coach Acacia Walker- Weinstein. It was done quietly and insures AWW will be at BC for the “long term” future I heard. She got more years and a significant raise.

Have talked with people all around football I know from 34 years in local media. Every person is mesmerized and amazed that BOB is at BC. They all give Blake James the credit. It was an amazing hire. He had BOB in his sights and wasn’t going to stop until the job was done.

Wait until you see how well the baseball coach does. Already has best recruiting year for 2025 in bc history. People all over baseball at every level were stunned that BC was able to get Todd Interdonato. Terrific hire. He’s also given him what he needs to compete.
Love the BOB hire. He’s a no nonsense coach who doesn’t accept bs and isn’t just ok with winning 6 games he’s a maniac on the sidelines which shows he cares. This is what we need in a coach. A dog with some fucking bite not a little poddle like Laughly was.

4. Very impressive individual. Left quickly to get back to the weight room. The training will completely change. Staff looked at poor second half performances last three years and believe a lot of it was conditioning. Team was slow and had too many injuries. Lacked physicality.

I again can’t praise James enough. This was a big time process that’s as good as any in recent memory. This is a Red Auerbach, Lou Lamoriello, Theo Epstein type move. Big time. Shows his connections, vision, and ability to get things done. BOB also did not come cheap.

I especially mention Berj. He is something that we have never had in sports management ever at BC. He was a key administrator/liaison and power broker for the greatest dynasty in NFL history. He was Belichick’s right hand man as well as a key person for Robert Kraft.

5. New program will be different than old programs. Renewed training on gaining maximum strength and stamina. Lots of pumping iron will be in play. There will be an NFL look to the strength and conditioning in line with other areas. Things like nutrition, sleep, psychology…

Heard from someone who heard Coach Coughlin’s speech. Spoke for 20 minutes. Spoke to the team as if he was speaking to his own team. Told the team that. Also told them he wanted their complete attention and focus. No day dreaming or slouching. Players were mesmerized.

I also heard Blake had a part in hiring Greg Brown. He became AD late in the process but was asked his opinion. From being at Maine he has great hockey contacts. Scouts, media, coaches, nhl and college hockey. He talked to numerous people and endorsed Greg Brown fully.

I’ve been going to BC hockey games since the early 70’s. This was by far the best student attendance I’ve ever seen by far. Two sectional behind the net were completely filled at 6:30. Sections behind the BC bench in upper level filled by game time.
Don’t care how complicated it is logistically, just get the students more lower bowl seats

BC won by 16. Dominated throughout. DeMarr led BC 16. Makai had 12. Karnick looked good inside. BC was up by 24 at one point. Played “kamikaze” according to a person who was there. Coach very pleased.

1. Just spoke with a BCAA higher up who explained what happened. The good father wanted to stay until he was eighty. He will be seventy six next week. BOT said no thanks so they agreed on a two year deal in essence. That will give him a nice circular thirty year tenure.

Wasn’t Newton residents. Last phase(scoreboard, LF seats, bigger press box, area for tv and scouts) was delayed because of costs increases due to Covid. Hopefully this off-season things will start. Blake James adamant about getting it done. Also promised to coach Todd.

As a fifty year season ticket holders I’m happiest for students and young fans. This is what I experience from the 70’s through 2010. Some bad years in there but fun times more than not. Just wait until we are really competitive. Its loads of fun.
Now that things have slightly calmed down. The stress involved in planning how long to stay in Greensboro is sinking in.
