For everyone except libertarians, letting people truly hit the ground & die on the street because they blew their UBI check on crack isn't a real option.

That said, an Infosec recruiter should be used to privacy-paranoid people who would question it. Any unique 8 digits for yourself would work.

@eyeslasho @jeremymstamper 60% of my neighborhood was plywooded up during BLM riot summer, and 80% was in prep for the election. After 1/6, no one felt the need to board back up before Inaug. Day (which was quite a tense period, if you recall). I care more viscerally about my house being burned down.

@sgodofsk Because he didn't. It was obviously a BLM-style #Occupy attempt that unexpectedly succeeded more than anyone expected because the NPS/Capitol Police/NG tried to minimize response/footprint due to criticism they got about heavyhanded DC response in May/June 2020. Judged as such.

@alxcharlesdukes @wanyeburkett There are definitely some technocratic solutions, but at that point you're basically re-creating the existing mix of progs we have today: EBT, Medica*, Sect. 8 vouchers, etc. I'm all for streamlining, but UBI is a rare conservative program ("free markets!") I think wouldn't work.

@headfallsoff @Beamposter I had to be out the door before 5:58 to be up the street for a 6:01 (city) bus to get me to school by 7:15 (next option would make me late). Not unusual in the US, especially if you weren't going to your closest neighborhood school for some reason.
