@anjiekonte While i hate waiting times too, idk if u can blame HCW’s. They’re expected to listen to the patient carefully, find a solution and provide the appropriate treatment/counseling, all within 30mins 10-20 times/day. Dont think any other industries have these same expectations

My first 2 years of med school has been inundated by research. I even had classmates talk about during orientation. But something felt so pervasively wrong about how it was being used. A special thanks to @davidevelasqu for helping me put these thoughts and feelings onto paper

The measure of what makes a good medical student and future physician should not be how many publications they have, but how well they understand and care for their patients.

@anjiekonte Sadly the amount they are paid is actually determined by the insurance companies! Physicians themselves dont have control over the prices for their services so to make up, they take on more patients. This is why we hate insurance companies just as much as the public!

@transplantID Considering the recent talks of id compensation, why cant ID fellows be trained in source control/abcess drainage? I feel like it’s a procedure that’s well in line with the responsibilities of ID plus reduces the burden on other surgical/procedural specialties

Rich parents help you overcome each step and in a hypercompetitive space, the smallest advantage helps you stand out

In the debate over #GunControlNow , the stupidest defense against gun reform has to be that criminals wont follow gun laws so we shouldn’t pass them. Really? If that’s the case, let’s get rid off all laws since criminals won’t, by definition, follow them at all!
