A MUST LISTEN! This is a massive topic, like the Common Core; but this does a great job of hitting the important elements. Grateful for this! And I hope @realDonaldTrump will listen. It will be a hard fight to get him to change this campaign priority. The backers won’t be happy.
This is the most comprehensive compilation of interviews of Republicans in Texas fighting against government regulated School Choice™️. I’m grateful to @BisforBerkshire and @edu_historian for capturing the nuances and the devil in the details. It’s a MUST LISTEN. 🎙️🎙️🎙️🎙️🎙️🎙️🎙️🎙️🎙️ Honored to be included with: Alice Linahan @Woodyboy2020 Rep Glenn Rogers @RogersForTexas Brett Guillory @BGuilloryHTX Mario Barrera @gr8tersachamber Tracy Fisher @antraasa Suzanne Bellsnyder @sbellsnyder Nicki Truesdell @nickitruesdell Rep Steve Allison @stevefortx Scott Braddock @scottbraddock

@tomgglass @ShelleyLuther SB2 “school choice” bill is govt overreach, and she’s for that. So… I guess we’ll see. With workforce and tech first agendas as part of govt school transformation, I am not encouraged.

@North12B @GregAbbott_TX We’ve had someone trying to primary Crenshaw the last 2 elections, but the election fraud and lack of progressive billionaire donor $$ doesn’t help our guy. @thejamesonellis are you gonna run against him again?

“By fighting against only the left’s opposition to “school choice,” Abbott can present himself as defending conservatism while actually pushing socialism.” - @MCABillings
None of the conservative objections are listed here, why? 1) conservative objections are not "myths" 2) Abbott wants to fight the left and deceive his base If the conservative criticisms of big government, strings attached, and redistribution set the battlefield in the public's mind he will not be able to pass SB2.

@mom_joyful @Davy1836 @GregAbbott_TX If it doesn’t happen at the State level, then we get to look forward to an unconstitutional federal level battle against Trump. He ran on $10k/student for ESAs. This issue makes me nervous.

@pjakcoker_patty @Liberty4TheKids Oh… 3.3B at a minimum. They’re setting up another unaccountable money funneling system for the taxpayers to fund. It’s a vendor bill. “Aren’t they all vendor bills?”- Brandon Creighton actually said that!

@Magirly9 @Liberty4TheKids We KNOW it’s coming… being rammed down our throats by the TX legislative RINO swamp. You’re either ignorantly blind to the truth of what this is or you’re part of the socialist agenda. Growing govt funding and govt overreach into our private venues. Sickening!

@Liberty4TheKids We KNOW!We KNOW this is Growing Government! Creating ANOTHER lane of tax funded govt. ed, with govt overreach. But you’re even going to call Lifelong registered Republicans deranged. Lifelong registered Republican here who’s been following this issue for over a decade. #NoSB2! 👎🏻

@arielletribby @nickitruesdell Nicki has a whole blog to show how anyone can homeschool and she published out of print books for homeschooling. She’s amazing! Classical Conversetions is another fantastic source. @TheRobertBshow
@ALEXNEWMAN_JOU, don’t you agree?

@arielletribby @nickitruesdell She may, but I think this is more of an example of one you could use for a tiny fraction of what the State/Feds propose. Hillsdale has a full k-12 curriculum too. So does TAN Books. The difference in parents choosing online curriculum they can see vs schools’ is fantastic!

Excellent analogy and great article link, Alice Linahan! @Woodyboy2020
Hat Tip @TheRobertBshow CEO of Classical Conversations. I pulled the on target analogy below from Robert’s tweet thread to create this post. Hacking has become more sophisticated, and the #schoolchoice lobby is using eerily similar principles. Here’s how it works. It is very difficult for a hacker to install malware on your computer without your permission. Security systems are designed to block unauthorized access. So, what is a hacker to do? They create software that looks completely harmless sometimes even helpful. It might be a fun game, a productivity tool, or a simple flashlight app. But there is a catch… Hidden within the software is a vulnerability a security hole in your computer. This makes the software a delivery system for future malware. You don’t notice it at first. The software does exactly what it promised. You enjoy its features and continue using it. Then, months, or even years later, the hackers exploit that backdoor. They install malware, steal your personal information, and steal your money and potentially ruin your life. This is exactly what Texas #SB2 and other School Choice bill’s and doing because they operate in the exact same way. Click the link to learn more

@ShannonJoyRadio Agree.Can you imagine DOGE in the hands of the wrong people? Maybe it already is?I have found myself saying we need a DOGE in TX. I really mean an audit. I seriously doubt we’d be able to have meaningful reform at this point without YEARS of honest and uninterrupted auditing.
