Vitamin D plays a crucial role in bone health, hormone regulation, immune function, and mood stabilization, all of which are particularly relevant during perimenopause. Since perimenopause is a transitional phase marked by fluctuating estrogen levels, vitamin D may help mitigate some of the symptoms and long-term health risks associated with this stage.

@MerelInger @BrandonLuuMD Not unless you got Vitamin D toxicity from taking too much. Vit D Toxicity->Hypercalcemia->Long time goes by->Chronic Hypercalcemia->Kidney Dysfunction->pH and K+ issues possible

@BrandonLuuMD Yeah, totally. I just saw the one guy commenting about hypercalcemia, like OK I get it, but the point is the benefits you pointed out and others, not fear mongering because some people are going to take more than the recommended dosage. Anyways, good thread 🙏

@hubermanlab Being fit can fuel jealousy and thus misguided attacks on those who preach the blessings of being in good shape. However, people who have found excercise and health simply want to spread the word, so that others may find it too. Keep preaching until your words find the right ears

@Sassafrass_84 Especially when you re-tweet it 😂. This person is so ignorant her words should be ignored, not broadcasted. Remember intelligence is the ability to ignore irrelevant data.

@NTFabiano We need to! What about putting state of the art gyms that serve at least one free healthy meal in poor neighborhoods. Free access to those with low income. This would pay dividends for the whole country empowering people to be more disciplined, productive, and healthy.

@KenDBerryMD Let’s start telling our patients that processed foods are as bad as cigarettes. Probably not too far off
