20 years ago, working on TV documentary in Germany, we showed a 1930's copy of Time magazine to an elderly woman, and it had a full page photo of Hitler. She had quite a similar reaction.

I’m no legal expert, but I assume Ireland is the same as UK, where pepper spray is illegal.
What’s not illegal though is Deep Heat, as it cannot be classified as a weapon.
You might need to carry a can of this spray for an aching knee, and it’s apparently quite effective.

I was in Malaga last year, & we arrived on Good Friday.
Had to walk across city dragging a suitcase, in the middle of the processions. Felt like Roger Moore in Moonraker, getting stuck in the carnival.
