It's due to the fact that a whole generation were taught ecclesiology was irrelevant as long as you just "lOVE JEezuz"

As a pastor and church planter in one of the most liberal states in this country, you have no idea how much I agree with my brother here.
Go argue with a brick wall if you disagree - more chance of changing its mind than changing mine.
Christians have always gone into Godless areas to proclaim the Gospel--this is what real Christians do. This modern idea of retreating from "blue" states, is nothing more than a modern-day version of monasticism.
We are called to be salt and light, not huddle in "safe cities."

I grew up in a brand of Pentecostalism that really emphasized the Devil and the demonic. Painfully so at times.
This kind of teaching would have been a tonic for my soul growing up - can only be thankful I've been able to sit under it now.
