all jokes aside, more people should do this. accommodating people with hearing impairments decreases their level of cognitive decline due to hearing loss.

A lot of people also retired and the fed govt pay is not competitive. Add the level of education needed to have a solid foundation from which to enter into a position like this. Then sprinkle covid on top. A recipe for disaster.
COVID did something to the aviation industry that I struggle to articulate. It’d be easy to blame low hanging fruit like DEI or manufacturer greed but I think it’s much more insidious than that. You don’t break a 16 year streak casually. There’s rot in the social fabric
