Relax out there. Put down the phone. Focus on the road. Enjoy the drive. If someone is tailgating-- they need to relax too, but don't engage the rage! The smartest and safest thing to do is move over and let them pass.

Tailgating is an unsafe driving behavior and so is impeding the flow of traffic. If you encounter someone moving at a higher speed than you, the safe approach is to move right and allow them to pass. Drive right and pass left.

If you slide off the road or your vehicle breaks down, it’s generally safest to stay buckled up inside your vehicle until help arrives. Getting out of your vehicle and walking around a highway is always dangerous, but especially when roads are slippery.

Thanksgiving means more vehicles on the road and an increased risk of crashes.  No matter how long or short your drive, remember to #DriveSober and see family and friends at the table and not in the ER.

Lots of snow and ice covered roads out there. Make sure to plan ahead and take it slow if you have to travel today. Check before you go for road conditions and incidents. Stay safe! #wiwx

Deer are near! Last year in Wisconsin there were 18,414 crashes involving deer. We are near the peak of their movement. Ditch distractions and be sure to scan the sides of the roadway. If a collision is unavoidable, don’t swerve. Brake firmly and keep both hands on the wheel.

Slippery stretches and ice covered roads reported across most of Wisconsin this morning. Drive with caution on bridges and ramps, and leave room to brake. Check for the latest road conditions. #wiwx

School buses are back on the roads – and so are kids! Make sure you’re keeping a close eye out for children. Remember: flashing red lights on a bus mean stop. Amber lights mean slow down and prepare to stop.
