The 12th Century, Hospital of St Johns in Trim, Co Meath. The same religious order the Fratres Cruciferi had another Hospital in Dublin, also St Johns, on Thomas’ St and it may have looked similar.
Fantastic news! We’ve just been informed that St James’s, the biggest hospital in the country, has no inpatients with

for the first time since March 2020. 💉 💉
@DrAseemMalhotra
I am a Stroke physician and lead in the National Stroke Audit in Ireland, a mor highly vaccinated population than UK . We have seen no association between the vaccine and an increase in strokes and deaths. Your comment is frankly wrong and irresponsible.
@Jcmurdoch26
@drphiliplee1
Just wait thill the media find out that some hospitals have entire Labour wards. The outcry from the Telegraph will be unbearable.
@moorehn
The hilarious thing is that Joe Biden has 10 of 16 Great Grandparents who were Irish. Charles, who’s going to be crowned King next month, only had 5 of 16 who were British.
Last year to December 31st 1373 patients were admitted to hospital in Ireland with seasonal influenza. That was over 3 months and we coped. If it happened over 2-3 weeks we wouldn’t have. Play your part & help flatten the curve.

Congratulations to the Year 5 Medical Students of Trinity College Dublin on completing their final exams in the most challenging circumstances. The 308th graduating year, the 1st to do much of their assessment online. Well done to all, we’re incredibly proud of you.

Appropriately dressed for participating in the Graduation of a new class of Doctors from Trinity College Dublin today! Zoom only films you from the shoulders up. Congratulations to all our new colleagues. We’re so proud.

Very thankful to have received the

Leo Varadkar’s degree course required almost the highest entry grades of any in Ireland & he then qualified as a GP. He later became a PM aged 38 having held 4 previous ministries. He speaks 3 or 4 languages fluently. You can criticize him for many things but not for intelligence
@olsonplanner
European doctor here! I know how much my patients are typically charged for procedures, almost nothing. Your system has big problems, it’s clear a huge proportion of your spending has nothing to do with patient care.

You can inform her she’s not eligible, Irish citizenship is not always automatic to spouses! We has to have been resident on the island of Ireland for the preceding year and have been two years resident in the last 4 years.
People over 85 are due to be notified for their vaccines in the next few days. Can we please get this right and remember that a lot of older people can’t access the internet so please have options other than online registration!

Almost certainly not. Sounds like a esophageal variceal bleed or a bad gastric perforation into an artery. Cerebral aneurysms don’t bleed into the pharynx.
Not much you can do with either on an airliner I’m afraid.
@VictoriaCoren
You need to institute the Irish tradition of Nollaig na mban (women’s’ Christmas) where you spend the day of the 6th eating mince pies and drinking wine and let him do all the tidying up.

If you want a comparison, annually the Government spends about €40-€45 million training doctors, €62 million training racehorses and €18 million training greyhounds. They ultimately all spend a lot of time running around in circles but the Docs also save some lives.
Congratulations to all the TCD Final year Medical Students who’ve just received their exam results. A huge accomplishment to qualify given the stressors of the last year, studying in hospitals dealing with the pandemic. Huge thanks to our Clinical colleagues and hospital partners
@sophielouisecc
I carried out a sophisticated pieces of investigative journalism by entering ‘Barbican Centre Map’ into a little known app called ‘Google’ and it came up with this. It appears that the Barbican has what can only be described as an extensive array of toilets to meet all needs.

Can I say as one working in his Hospital and University that he is fully and extremely well qualified to make the comments that he did. He has extensive and specific knowledge of the topic. Some tweets would be better removed. This is one of them and ‘is ‘entirely inappropriate’.
@DrEricDing
@Mosaic_LifeCare
We’ve used it a few times in our hospital and the effects are amazing. It’s a (probably) once off gene therapy that uses an adenovirus to deliver the missing gene. We’ve a specialist suite for giving it though and there are (thankfully) relatively few kids needing it.

Just remember that evolution also gave us the levator labii superioris alaeque nasi muscle predominately so we could sneer at such facts.

I’m on the frontline I actually work in a regional center where out of hospital cardiac arrests are brought and I also work for an organisation that collects National data on cardiac disease and stroke for a population 90% vaccinated. I can tell you that this is unadulterated BS.
@Kelvinthewoods
@raggedlines
They carry Covid in their airways for longer so they remain infectious longer. You are declining a vaccine with over 5 Billion doses administered. I’m a vascular doctor, I’m not seeing vaccine complications but I’m sure as hell seeing the 3% of severe Covid patients who stroke

The really tragic thing is that thousands of people liked the tweet, even after it was shown to be complete BS. Same with Farage’s tweet about Gibraltar. Truth is no longer important to them.
This is so frustrating. 4 years ago in yet another ED crisis I presented in Dáil Éireann as National Clinical Lead for Stroke and advised that the worst thing you could do if you want to avoid ED and waiting list probs was to cut home care packages.
CPR for out of hospital cardiac arrest is lifesaving and not that difficult. There’s a short video from

here. It’s really worth 5 minutes of your day.

@onthislasthill
He sadly appears to have Primary Progressive Aphasia which is a form of Frontotemporal dementia which is not a prion disease and is tragically the condition that Terry Jones from Monty Python also suffered from. It’s nothing to do with vaccines, so stop trying to scare people.
@frankie_mangan
Actually NCH is a completely separate organisation to SJH, it’s just on land that used to belong to the hospital. Rampant misinformation?
@Doctor_Eric_B
We took a 13cm clot out of someone’s ICA and MCA in 2009 following a carotid dissection. Clearly a very early case of Covid vaccination complication.

Response from James Lawrence, Wales International, who plays for Hamburg St Pauli. With this logic any European country should put the ‘3 lions’ on their watch list given the history of English Football hooliganism in Europe.
@josecanyousee_
Stroke specialist here. No reason he shouldn’t stay in the race he’ll be absolutely fine following his Thrombectomy . It would be brilliant if he won. There are 7 million stroke survivors in the US and maybe 5 million with A Fib, another advocate in the senate would be fantastic.

I know it’s hard for you but I’m afraid I’m a publically paid doctor with nothing to sell. We collect the data from hospitals and analyse it. There is no evidence from our data for the statement made by Dr Malhotra.
If you’re a pharmacist or anyone with access to a supply of Personal Protective Equipment sitting on a shelf or in a store room please donate it to your local hospital. We’re all awaiting a delivery from China but in the meantime we need increasing amounts daily.

I did a quick analysis on that. Cars per household/state vs. car accident deaths/ 100K is a much weaker correlation than for guns (r=0.37 vs 0.76). For correlation against miles travelled the correlation is weaker still (r=0.17).

And UK uses it and Ireland and Malta and Cyprus and nobody is suggesting that anyone changes (or drives on the other side of the road etc, etc, etc, etc.) It’s just the UK population have been willingly fed a endless menu of paranoid BS about the EU for the last 40 years.

Joe, hate to break it to you but you’re American. The Israeli team were photographed with soldiers and automatic weapons the day before the game and then accused the Irish team of antisemitism to the media. The Irish team responded by undertaking to play the match but that’s it.

thought he was so brilliant we made him a Professor. When our Bursar, David Lloyd, asked I’m if he’d like a Chair, he said he’d prefer a hat so we gave him a special Professor hat, (designed by John Rocha).
Personal view. Essentially this year’s places were determined by the HPAT. It neither predicts academic performance in the course or is associated with traits like empathy. It counts as a ‘super H1’ but one where some students can afford tuition that others can’t. This isn’t fair
@AvrahamCooperMD
If you wonder how Dominic Corrigan saw all the Aortic Regurgitation that allowed him to describe Corrigan’s sign Corrigan’s pulse etc, it was probably due to the high level of syphilis in 19th century Dublin and associated syphilitic aortitis and associated root dilatation.
@gavinesler
Imagine you’re the Irish government or an Irish MEP, or any MEP listening to this performance. Would you be afraid of engaging in debate with this razor sharp intellect? Is this really the best Britain has to offer? He’s going to be mocked & treated like a fool in Europe.

Actually what is happening is some UK Universities are beginning to set up virtual campuses or offices in EU countries to offset the effect of being unable to access EU and other funding streams and colllaborations. Your actually driving your own scientists offshore.

The context is that it is in occupied Palestinian territory and they want to convert the area into a firing zone for the Israeli army and 1000 Palestinians are being forcibly moved and their homes and other buildings are being demolished by an occupying military force.
@mattdpearce
This is Fern’s Cathedral in Ireland. Like Notre Dame it originally dates from the 1230s. It is tiny, because all a Cathedral means is the church of a Bishop. Why makes Notre Dame more special? They’re both Cathedrals and churches? Mainly it’s the art and architecture.

I think it’s fair to say that Clare Daly doesn’t represent most Irish people. She’s already not running at the next election largely because she’d be ‘thrown out on her ear’ (as they say in Ireland) if she did.

It’s not a ‘differing opinion’ I’m stating facts and you’re stating something your invisible friend the paramedic told you. Your attempt to scare people is disgraceful but looking at your timeline, pretty typical.
