You won’t remember, but in 2006/7 you threatened to kick me out of medschool at the end of the 4th year. My crime? I failed the cardiology module following a head injury which meant I missed a significant part of the clinical teaching. I was awarded NO sympathy. I was told
@Dr__Sarmy No it isn’t. Why do you think it is? Come on, explain yourself please. Fully, chapter and verse. Not just anecdote or assertion. Happy to receive direct argument: polite only please. At j.v.parle@bham.ac.uk

The average daily impact of surgical smoke is equal to 27-30 unfiltered cigarettes.* PneumoClear’s smart inflow and outflow management system is designed to maintain stability while actively evacuating the harmful toxins of surgical smoke. Visit https://t.co/BJVR0LoFAz for more.

My gosh. @profjimspeaks is actively working against the medical profession. One of the key architects of dumbing down medical education and overseeing the replacement of Drs with lesser trained PAs Selling doctors down the river for his IEA agenda.
@Dr__Sarmy He is too committed to his historic support of PAs The failure to foresee the problems sits on his shoulders & others in positions of power/influence If as a educator he couldn’t see the potential issues, he has failed, not least the PAs he has advocated but more Drs he hasn’t

Last year (2023), 2718 qualified Drs were rejected for radiology ST1 training Competition ratio is currently 9:1, and is one of the most sought after specialties Instead of expanding training for Drs jumping through countless hoops to be considered eligible, PAs are waltzing in
Introducing two special members of our team! Helen Bucknall is our first IR advanced practitioner and Lottie Lewis is the UK's very first IR physician associate. We're privileged to have them both! @StGeorgesTrust @StgRadiology @PPaauk @SCoRMembers @cirsesociety @SIRspecialists

Any question of Drs’ greater earning potential than PAs needs to be put to bed. If a doctors jumps through every hoop as quickly as possible they STILL won’t out earn PAs after 20 years! Doctors should be earning much more than PAs. I think few would disagree. @wesstreeting

Great article - thank you Nicholas - exactly the same thing is happening with private medical insurance (PMIs) providers in the UK and doctors
My article in The Guardian on why we should break up companies that are too big, and too powerful. https://t.co/dBrtemFwSy We've also got a report coming out tomorrow laying out in detail the case for breakups. https://t.co/RY7Pu6qQtL

I think the GMC knows that they've ultimately lost the battle on this, as they can't force any doctor to consent to supervision and risk their license. It would so easily be made front page of the tabloids if they even tried. Rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.
We’ve written to healthcare leaders, chief medical officers and employer organisations about the regulation of physician associates (PAs) and anaesthesia associates (AAs). You can read our letter on our website: https://t.co/Q8ZlQHTlLi The letter explains more about our approach

Look at the contrast Whilst careerists like NHS National Medical Director chime on about the great NHS Staff holding the place together are getting emails stating they’ll be stretched and exploited even further, by departments ‘not always filling vacant posts’ The real NHS:
Today I visited @UCLH on #WorldThrombectomyDay to hear how they are leading the way in ensuring patients have 24/7 access to mechanical thrombectomy, a game-changing procedure that can save lives & reduce disability following a stroke. @NHSEngland @HargrovesDavid @TheStrokeAssoc

Who wants to be a doctor? ▪️Graduate with £100k debt after 5+ years of study ▪️no guaranteed job ▪️expected to be grateful for any job anywhere in the country ▪️work for £15 an hour ▪️while your assistant is paid more & takes the training opportunities

The NHS needs more doctors so why have some medical students been left in limbo waiting for a job?
