Tik Tok kids under 30 - planting season is creeping up on us.” Posts clip of $750,000 planter set up.
Everyone else 30 and over - “No it’s not. It’s January and my bones hurt.” Takes sip of whiskey. Posts video from swim up bar.
When your 3 year old daughter calls sobbing on the phone and says repeatedly “I can’t live like this anymore” (because she misses me) on day 2 of running hard during harvest it about rips your heart out. 🥹
I’ve reached that point where when I see someone studying things such as planting date or soil temps I just tune them out. The young man that works for us told me this week “it is stunning how the same rules don’t apply form year to year; each year is different.” You got it kid.
Starlink chain visible for maybe 5 mins at my location near Van Wert, Ohio around 7:35pm. My first time experiencing this! They were really moving along!

See and Spray demo/training yesterday via 616R. An impressive piece of engineering all the way around. My favorite part; it all functions flawlessly. Thank you

and

for everything!
Our family’s wean to finish facility looking spiffy this morning. Gets a little better each year! Still pleased with the work the guys at A-1 Ag. in Ft. Recovery put in on this project! 🐷
2660VT might have surpassed the Case 875 as my favorite tillage tool. However, I think to make this system work really good over time it will take both tools.
@thefarmerslife
LOUD! Takes it out. Pulls glasses down nose to be able to read it (still ringing), takes a moment to decide what to do (still ringing), opens and closes flip phone, puts it back into pocket. 😂
My wife and I got talk to Pete one on one for quite awhile back in March of ‘18 in Vegas. He asked where we were from and when we said Van Wert, Oh. his eyes lit up. Pete was going to be in VW at the NPAC that Fall. He literally gave me his cell phone to show me his calendar.
Beautiful day for tile! Heard today from 2 different people that our local contractors are 2-3 years out on installs. Made me pretty thankful Prof. Brown sparked my interest in this endeavor back in 2009-2010 at Ohio State. We don’t set speed records, but we do a damn good job.
7:05am. 4 miles south of Van Wert. North South Roads significant drifting. Visibility zero at times. Truly a life threatening situation if things do not go as planned when venturing out today.

will continue to dominate until the quality of other(s) live streams and content improves. I love watching different streams during events, but always come back to Ryan simply because of the quality of the stream.
I need to do this more! Water skied on July 4th! No fancy ski boat with a loan lengthier than my mortgage. 175 horse Evinrude on a 22’ tri toon! My wife at the helm! My 8 year old on the Kodak! We made it happen!
Man…what is going on with these forecasts? Put rain chances in, start backing the chances off, by noon the rain chance for that day has been slowly taken out, add a 50% chance for rain or greater in for the next day. Don’t mention a flash drought.
Rinse and repeat.
In Florida tonight, at Cape Canaveral they are rolling out a new vehicle that will eventually take humanity back to the moon. Meanwhile, back here in Van Wert, a small portion of our population is struggling mightily navigating a beautiful newly installed roundabout.

made our 🌾 harvest happen when we wanted it to this year. We ran into a pretty serious issue the day we were ready to head to the field. Their service team got together and within 24hrs had our machine in the field. There is a reason we run

I enjoy being around machinery, operating machinery, and maintaining machinery. We demoed and ended up ordering one of these Pro Force Spreaders from

almost 2 years ago. We put down a lot of product last week and are thrilled with its performance. Awesome tool!
Awesome play design by Coach Etzler at the end to give the Knights the win. Had to believe all the pressure was going to be on their many shooters. Slipped a screener to the rim. Beautiful pass. Lay up for the win. The screener is so dangerous in those situations.
5 kids to the farm show this morning! No school today! Enjoy seeing the new tech at these shows. The next 5-10 years in ag are going to be amazing to watch play out.
Or maybe I’ll abandon ship and be the guy selling umbrellas and beach chairs down in Ft Lauderdale. 😂
Up at 6am. Our first youth game tipped at 8:00am in Rockford, second one at 9:30am, youngest son kicked off his basketball at 10am in VW. “Hey we going to Lucas Oil or Assembly Hall tonight?”
Checked off a dream bucket list item tonight!
Treated to a great game.

We run with a small crew. Everyone did a flawless job this year. Well oiled machine. Professionals.
Great year for everyone in our small part of the world. A lot to be thankful for on Thursday. 🦃
Goal this fall. Deere 2660VT touches every corn stalk at least once. Once you’ve experienced it, no till beans seem like such a pain in the ass. Yield may not be all that different, but my anxiety levels will be lower.
The farmer owned tile plows were out in full force the last couple days. Was really cool getting a bunch of Snapchats from buddies that have their own plow or work for a commercial outfit! You don’t want to know how dry we still are. 🤢
Must tip my cap to the Lady Raiders of Wayne Trace. What you did tonight was impressive. Executed their game plan perfectly. Possessed the basketball with care and patience. Made free throws. Played hungry on defense. Good luck to you!
This one’s for you

“My farm is paid for, property tax is theft, but it’s my farm now and I should be able to do what I want. If I want to dig a nuclear waste disposal facility on the back 40 I should be able to do that.”

“Do you guys have any more of those no solar farms signs?”
23 years later this day still makes me sick to my stomach.
The choices that had to be made:
Jump or burn alive?
If we all get behind this food cart and push we can break down the door and take the controls back.
Only one way to put that fire out, climb up the stairs.

The corn on this truck is my corn. I plant, care for, harvest, and store it on my farm. I maintain a sterile environment around my grain storage facility to ensure that insects and rodents don’t have a place to reside. Malathion isn’t even necessary on my farm. Enjoy the weekend!
Rural communities are the best! Another day of the year that always reminds me I do in fact have one of the coolest jobs on Earth. Some serious horsepower on display at Parkway this morning!
A lot of REALLY crabby farmers in northwest Ohio in regard to cover crops. The thing I keep hearing is it’s one more problem to deal with that I don’t need.
A lot of operations cutting their cover crop teeth in a brutal Spring.
We’ve become a bit over the top with canceling events hours in advance of severe weather haven’t we?
We all have phones. We can see when things are happening. There is usually plenty of time to get to safety. Where you’re at may be safer than your home.
Just an observation.
This view never gets old when you finally get south of Van Wert on 127. Here is a great view of the highest elevation point in southern Van Wert County. Farming on these hill sides ain’t for the faint of heart!
So, I just put two and two together and realized who this was! Noah’s father was actually the lender who helped finance our first home! A local family! This is fantastic!
