So today I’m hauling manure at a farm that sits back a dead end road and i come up on a group of high school kids smoking weed in a convertible, as I drive by to head into the field they point and laugh and mock me, so I smiled, and they received a manure shower in their Lexus
Being a farmer is stupid . We get home safe and sound from the hospital with mom and baby and now I’m back to my farmer guilt of wanting to go out and do something productive . Why are we like this? Why can’t i just enjoy one day at home?
Wedding day is upon us… extremely excited to marry my best friend snd begin our life together! P.s. we’re getting married in the bank barn of the farm her and I own. I think it turned out pretty good!
Owning land near town consists of opening mail that says “hi My name is _____ and my wife and I would like to buy 5 acres of your land to build our dream home” 🙄
Just getting this out there to the public, I can promise you almost every farmer who raises livestock would love to prove you wrong and show you how passionate they are about their animals and their wellbeing. Ask a farmer for a tour of their farm, we don’t have anything to hide
I’m so freaking tired of seeing everyone complain about commodity prices. We’re still making money, if we weren’t we wouldn’t be in business. Don’t keep all your eggs in one basket and diversify. Be a better marketer, be a better grower, be a better farmer.
Just received the call that I finally close on my first farm this Thursday... Excited, nervous and optimistic are the only words I know to describe my feelings right now!!
There’s how many millions of acres of desert in the western United States, but they want to put solar panels on highly productive farmland in Ohio where we don’t see half as much sun?
Wtf am I missing here??
Planting season came to a stop for the biggest blessing the lord has ever given us. Annabelle Rose joined us yesterday morning! Won’t be the last time I stop a planter for this little girl I bet ❤️
We’ve lost over 600 acres since 2005 to development within 3 miles of our home farm, lost 100 this winter alone... really has me concerned with the future of operations where we’re at I’ll be honest
Hauling corn to a recently renovated ethanol plant in central Ohio. They produce ethanol alcohol for hand sanitizers. Clean air and clean hands! Corn can do it all!
Down here in Key West for the weekend with some friends, I don’t make it 100 ft on the Main Street before someone yells “pioneer seed corn hat nice man”
I know where farmers come all winter now
I’d rather the public trust agriculture and be more willing to learn about what we do and why we do it than ask them to “thank us”… just food for thought on

The guy I bought my first farm off of passed away this evening. Hadn’t seen him since our wedding. Like a grandpa to me. I tell you what, I’ll never be able to repay him enough for giving this 22 year old kid the opportunity of a lifetime. May God be with him and his family 🙏
In an occupation like farming, you have to be at one with God.. he blesses us with great and sometimes over abundant crops, other times he tests our faith with terrible weather and bad markets, it’s all in his plan, we’re just along for the ride 🚜
Having a son would be cool . But I’d take this little girl over and over again . She’s the best thing to ever happen to my wife and I . Such a blessing

Unpopular opinion:
Am I the only one who sees tractor pulls as a waste of entertainment?
If I had the money to spend on something like that i would think I could find more useful ways for it
Fillin silo is one of my favorite jobs on the farm. Built 2 silos in 2012 when we added onto our feedlot cattle operation . Something about a silo that just makes a farm, a farm
Landlords in central Ohio: I want 250$ cash rent
Landlords in northeast Ohio: yeah how about 100$ plus a load of hay for my couple cows, oh and you haul my sheep to the auction in the spring for me
If we’d replace 1/3 of our standard unleaded 87 (E-10) gasoline with unleaded 88 (e-15) gasoline. We’d replace the need for every drop of Russian imported oil. Seems like a pretty fair trade off.

Kourtney and I hosted thanksgiving for the first time in our house. Kourtney made a big batch of sangria... my moms side isn’t drinkers... everyone got drunk. First holiday hosted, success

Small businesses are still struggling through a pandemic but yet someone advised the governor that it was a good idea to “give away” 1 million$ in federal grant money to someone who got vaccinated . What a joke

Hey
@JohnDeere
, I think you should make an App that allows me to plug in part/filter numbers to see what they belong to or what new numbers they cross to that way it saves me from having to call the folks behind the parts counter.... I know I’m not alone in thinking this
The same people who think it’s horrible that calves are taken from their mothers on farms are the same people who got their puppies from a puppy mill, taken from its mother at 7 weeks old 🐸 ☕️
There’s always that older farmer in the neighborhood that acts so busy all the time but all he does is drive around and gossip snd see what everyone else is doing
#IYKYK
Stupid games win stupid prizes. Spent 3 hours in the middle of the night chasing down the asshole who did this to my corn field, and when the police confronted him he claimed it was an accident... lol
#dumbass
So tonight I had two grade school neighbor kids riding with me as I worked ground, asked the one kid what he did for fun, kid looked at me and said point blank, I chase girls for fun 😂😂😂😂
Hey

… does anyone else have trouble sleeping at night seeing and hearing of daily the amount of productive farmland were losing to development, urban sprawl, and solar production? I know a lot of farmers who may not be in business in 25 years bc of it,including myself
Kourtney has now decided since this house has a lot of flower beds that she’s going to become a master gardener, and also take up knitting as a hobby in the winter, I’m dating my grandma
Thank you to everyone who made our day so special! We’re so blessed with amazing family and friends! Can’t wait for a much needed week away with my WIFE
#FinallyKlicked
People who think animal agriculture is the problem behind climate change are the same people who think the earth is flat and think Epstein killed himself
Anyone else’s dad get worse and worse every year when the neighbors start planting? Acts like we’re so behind when in reality we’re just stupid and have trucks and cattle that have to be dealt with before crops..? Just mine, okay then.

Earlier this fall my Papa got a mail in ballot for my great grandma who passed away 25 years ago... so don’t tell me voter fraud wasn’t a thing this year...
Weather Lady: more rain in the forecast later this week, may make it hard to get your lawns taken care of with all the recent moisture...
Farmers: WHO CARES ABOUT YOUR LAWN BECKY I WANNA PLANT SOME DAMN CORN
My grandmother prays over us and our farm daily. Each time I talk to her on the phone she reminds me of that. She’s a living testimony to the power of prayer and what it can do 🙏
Local meat shop we supply beef to called yesterday and said they need steers Sunday night and doesn’t care what size, they sold 1800 pounds of ground beef on Friday alone..

Today our pastor stressed the importance of praying for those in positions of power. So that God may work through them. Especially for our president. Like him or not, doesn’t matter. I’m still praying for him
Neither sides of my family are big drinkers but i can almost guarantee I’ll need a flask for the amount of times I’ll hear “man it’s sure wet out there” “when do you think you’ll finish?” “This can’t be good for your wheat either” “I can’t remember it ever being this bad” ...😒🔫
My wife travels a decent bit for work. And I’ve come to the realization that if I don’t go to my moms for supper, that I end up eating hamburger helper. So basically, I’m still college Ben when my wife is gone 😂
You wanna know why so many people (including myself) aren’t taking
#Covid19
so seriously? Bc the gov’t made this sound like it was going to be the next bubonic plague in March and it hasn’t even been close to the common flu... get real people.
Got my first “seriously? You can’t even put your shit covered clothes in the washing machine before you leave” text from Kourtney lastnight. You can say we’re gettin pretty serious...
With a new administration and a new congress coming into play, it’s going to be very important that as farmers we EDUCATE and INFORM lawmakers of our issues and how things actually work in our ag world. Being mad does nothing for our cause. Get involved and have a voice
More often than not, you get further along in your career by who you know and relationships you build along the way, vs what you learn at an institution
FUN FACT OF THE DAY FOR YOU TREE HUGGERS!
On average, an acre of corn recycles 18 tons of CO2 in a years time, compared to only 2.5 tons per acre of a young tree habitats...
Lesson here, quilt destroying farm land!!!
So today I learned that the best way to tell if the grounds fit to plant or not, is to sit your bare ass in the dirt for 10 minutes to see if you freeze or not 🙄 lol old men I tell you
Today is my grandma Betty’s 94th birthday.. she was a state side nurse during WWII and beat breast cancer in her 70’s. Strongest Christian woman I know, God bless her today and everyday!
Today was a little out of the ordinary to say the least..severe storms tore through our little town and made a devastating mess for a lot of folks. But we’re Americans, we grabbed tractors and chain saws and got to work! Believe in America, there’s still good people out there!
90% of corn corn and 100% of our wheat are NOT routinely sprayed with “roundup” . Same can be said with most of production ag . Please sir, delete your account. You’re a fraud
Roundup, the most widely used herbicide in America, contains glyphosate. Glyphosate exposure has been linked to all kinds of diseases, including Non-Hodgkin lymphoma. 95% of our corn, and much of our wheat, is routinely sprayed with Roundup. This is something every American
