A serious, stoic, and grizzled Starlord voiced by Master Chief himself! Man this version of the Guardians definitely deserves more love and recognition.
Small detail, really appreciate how Starlord and rest of the Guardians are shown speaking alien language instead of English, until they connect via the soul gem.
EMH could've easily skipped Hank, given his state in the comics back then. But instead it chose to not only include him but even touch upon the controversial stuff, by developing his character from a pacifist to a loose canon. In turn giving us the best version of the character.
Jean going Dark Phoenix. The X-Men, fully grown, with X23, Colossus and Iceman as full time members. Brotherhood joining SHIELD and forming the Freedom Force. Nimrod leading the Sentinels. Talk about teasing the future.
The entire show looks like a comic book brought to life, but this episode just takes that to a whole another level. The aesthetic in this episode was simply peak.
Let me guess, a force of nature older than the universe that eats planets for breakfast. A mad Titan hellbent on appeasing death. The Elders. The Symbiotes. Empires like Kree, Skrull, Shi'ar, and Brood. And entities like Celestials.
It hits you hard when you realise Cap's visions are real, and the reason Bucky isn't there is because he was resurrected by Cap himself a few episodes back.
@deeceelife
Indeed. Thor actually felt like a god. Hulk was more than just smash and didn't end up becoming Shrek. Kang was more than a megalomaniac, he was actually sympathetic. Loki didn't goof around after taking the throne of Asgard instead went on to conquer the 9 realms.
Spectacular's take on Eddie/Venom is definitely the best of both worlds. Symbiote is shown as an alien, similar to 616. Thus keeping the rich lore intact. While Eddie is shown as Peter's childhood friend, akin to Ultimate comics. Giving that personal connection.
You know you've done Hulk's villains justice, when you manage to make Leader an Avengers level threat. Have Ross' obsession result into him becoming the Red Hulk and it affect the team. Obscure villains like U-Foes, Madman, Zzzax etc. Along with the Hulkbusters.
@PilsterJr
That'd be awesome. In the end it Mar-vell sacrifices himself. Making it seem as if Thanos died, only to be revealed that he was revived by Lady Death. Followed by a buildup to Infinity Gauntlet.
Coincidentally I'd thought of a similar story with Doom.
With the Cosmic Cube and Doom already established. And with plans to introduce Uatu in the near future as well, EMH would be the perfect place to adapt a Marvel Heroes style Emperor Doom storyline.

Cold Take:
If EMH were to ever return, then Marvel shouldn't forcefully make it resemble the MCU for synergy purpose. As EMH's faithfulness to the source material, especially the silver age, is what makes it truly special even after all these years.
The genius of EMH Cap is that it plays with the Man Out of Time aspect instead of straight up making him the leader. Instead we slowly see him grow into the role of a leader from the ideal soldier.
Yostverse Fun Fact:
According to Joshua Fine, there was an episode planned for S2 of Wolverine and The X-Men which would've once again seen Wolverine in a black ops mission for SHIELD. This time accompanied by agents Hawkeye and Black. This would've been before the events of EMH.
Gamma World is definitely the closest thing to Hulk sequel.
Leader as a world dominating villain. The horror atmosphere. Use of both Banner's brain & Hulk's brawn. Hulk & Hawkeye's dynamic. And most importantly Hulk earning his spot back in the team and being seen as a true hero.
I love how Leader's design in EMH is the best of both worlds. His first design, reminiscent of his classic look, down to the metal headgear. And his second look inspired by the 90s series.
On one end you have Ross who hates these "monsters" and wants to weaponize them. On the other you have Leader, who wants to make Gamma World.
Needles to say EMH did a phenomenal job showcasing the extremes of Hulk's villains. Even after not being solely about him.
You know that something ain't right when a show is canceled, not because of bad reviews, less views, or license issues. But because it chose to stay faithful to the classic comics, instead of emulating a certain 2012 movie.
@kreuz888
I understand your pov. Infact they had even planned to eventually reconstruct his character in future seasons. Also his breakdown was gonna be different originally. We would've seen that Ultron's return in S2 is what would've been the final nail in the coffin for Hank....
Doc Ock from Spectacular had an origin and look similar to Raimi movies. His backstory as an Oscorp employee from the Ultimate comics. And storylines like Sinister Six and Master Planner from classic 616. But despite all this they managed to make it feel original.
Yostverse Headcanon:
In the council of Kangs that we were introduced to in S2 E23 "New Avengers" of EMH, Old Kang was Rama Tut from Fantastic Four 1967, Lady Kang was from the genderbent universe, and Kid Kang was from the Super Hero Squad universe.
Yostverse Opinion:
If EMH were to get revived then Klaw should return in his comic accurate containment suit. And should go on to become a member of the Masters of Evil.
Be it the way how Tony refrences prior F4 events, or to see Reed acknowledge how there is a reason behind Doom's every action, make it feel as if there's already an F4 show set in the same universe.
Assault on 42 is a nice redemption arc of sorts for Leader's character. Not only is he the first one to sense Annihilus's arrival but also ends up playing a crucial role in his defeat and helping the Avengers.
With the Cosmic Cube and Doom already established. And with plans to introduce Uatu in the near future as well, EMH would be the perfect place to adapt a Marvel Heroes style Emperor Doom storyline.

Opinion:
You don't need to do a 3 movie buildup of symbiote if you intend to do Venom. But what you should definitely build up is Eddie's character and his relation with Peter. That way the pay off is more impactful.
Spectacular and Spidey 94 prove it.
While EMH did retool the Wrecking Crew and Absorbing Man as Gamma villains, it was nice to see the show acknowledge their true origins by having them fight Thor.
Man I miss the times when Spidey would have these serious internal monologues instead of breaking the fourth wall every other minute for the sake of a few laughs.
Cap: Howlett, James Howlett?! From Canadian Special Forces right? You were with Jack Fury's Howling Commandos the last time I saw you.
Logan: Long time Captain.
Now this is an interaction that we would've really loved to see had EMH gotten a S3.
Yostverse Fun Fact:
According to Joshua Fine, there were intentions to have Hank McCoy visit fellow biologist and namesake Hank Pym in the S2 of Wolverine and The X-Men. In an effort to connect it to EMH.
Yostverse Opinion:
Absorbing Man should be one of the new members of Masters of Evil if EMH were to return. Given how Skurge and Amora's fates after Ragnarok are uncertain, he could serve as an opponent to Thor, similar to comics. And finally settle his score.
What made EMH's handling of Hulk's villians brilliant? The fact that it not only had both the Gamma Mutates and the Hulkbusters, but even highlighted the contrast between them. With Leader wanting to make a Gamma World. Whereas Ross wanting to imprison and weaponise them.
Yostverse Opinion:
Considering how under used her character was, if EMH were to return then Whiplash should be made a new member of the Masters of Evil.
You know you've done justice to Hulk's villians, when it's not just Leader, Abomination and Ross, but also other obscure ones like Madman, U-Foes, Zzzax, and Bi-Beast.
@XxChemistReexX
Actually there were plans to include them in finale. Also the finale was gonna be 3 parter with Galactus attacking Hla instead of Earth. But all that got scrapped after the change in management took place.
