That side jumping was a lot more fun than I though. 😀
Don't believe fitness in virtual reality is the real deal? Then check out what the new full body ( hands and feet ) mode in XRWorkout can do 👋👣 When even the tutorial gets you sweating you know what you are getting yourself into 😅 #vrfitness #vr #xr #metaquest

@PSYCHOV3N0M @Play_for_dream They are actually somewhat right. From their website they have two 3840x3552 displays which brings the total for both eyes to 7680x3552 Now if you can call that an 8K display is something different but at least the number of pixels they are pushing is close to 8K

@arian_ghashghai I believe both things can be true at the same time. For some people WFH works really well, for some collaborating in the office works better. I have done both and both have their ups and downs

@MKBHD @chadmumm You should follow @Rengle820 for the best VR Golf content there is. You may get a very strong opinion on if controllers are required for VR to be successful while doing so 😉

@josethevrtech It's not linux, it's the terminal. As soon as people see a terminal you are branded forever

@SpatialBiggs I think the generalized part is the important one here. We have to think about what XR means if the people using it are on vastly different devices ( camera/no camera, display/audio only, ..., display passthrough/optical AR), while still being able to interact with each other

@bffmike @realdowd @Heaney555 @jordihays Maybe instead of saying they are cancelling on XR ( which no one except the higher ups inside Apple actually know ) we can agree that they are fucking over the XR ecosystem by not sending clear messages?

@eminus Ok, stupid question. Is spacewalker supposed to be stereoscopic or is it just the imu tracking for a bigger screen thing? And if it is supposed to be stereoscopic which phone support that, because my Pixel 8 doesn't

@_LucasRizzotto It's also a necessary step in the right direction if we ever want fully autonomous robots, and not the 5G/Wifi required ones that put the compute in big datacenters

Even devices like the XREAL One and Viture have already utility today. They aren't full XR devices yet but already close and it's only going to improve whereas HMDs don't have that much room to grow. - They can get lighter/more comortable but that means taking stuff out of the headset into a puck which blurrs the line to those display glasses - They can get wider FOV which also provides dimishing returns at this point for sacrificing other things - They can get more powerful ( which kinda goes against the comfort goal ) but that won't really make much of a difference for the mass market and the die hard enthusiasts already have their devices. - They can get cheaper. That would only apply for the high end devices since the Quest 3s is already so cheap. And what point is there entering a market with a highly priced device when your only strategy to win is to underprice the rest So while I do see a certain market that will still benefit from the HMDs, after testing even only normal display glasses I am much more bullish on that future

Majorly impressed with DeepSeek R1 The phrase was generated with r1:14B on my local old 3070 laptop GPU with 6GB VRAM Prompt was: Complete the sentence: To be or not to be and put it into a fitness context It kept iterating on several ideas automatically and landed on that quote Image: Flux 1.1 Pro

The differrence is that Blockbuster actively avoided to go the same way Netflix did. I'd bet my (non-existent) Nvidia shares that Meta ( and others ) will copy and expand on what Deepseek does quicker than I could type out this post. Especially Meta which is semi open ( compared to the fully closed OpenAI ) will be able to move quickly because people in the broader AI community are doing part of the work for them
