I’m excited to introduce Wild. Wild is already the fastest growing VR SDK of all time, spearheaded by QuestCam. We’re taking our bold vision for VR one step further with an entirely custom game engine made for what VR is best at: shared social worlds. Wild will be the place Gen Alpha goes to hang out after school. Right now, we’re participating in @HF0, the most prestigious startup program in the world.
Wild is building the modern middle school playground. Gen Alpha is the first VR-native generation and Wild is building the place in VR where they hang out with friends after school. We’ve embedded our deep understanding of VR and Gen Alpha into Wild Engine: a from-scratch engine made specifically for shared VR worlds. For the first test, we opened up a social lobby and let people place blocks freely to see what would happen!

@zackmac63102618 @CezaryXR So then how will VR versions of AAA games be enough to sell ppl on VR? You’re now saying that AAA VR = AAA flat (which I agree with)

@zackmac63102618 @CezaryXR If VR alone (I.e. same game design, just in VR) was enough, then why didn’t new games like the ones I’ve mentioned take off? If the fact they were native to VR was soooooo cool?

@zackmac63102618 @CezaryXR Why would someone get a quest 3 then if it just had the same games as XBox, PS5, and their PC?

@zackmac63102618 @CezaryXR Why should we focus on the picky gamer class when millions of normal multi-interest kids are the ones spending time in VR?

@zackmac63102618 @CezaryXR this is just verifiably wrong. the market is headed in the exact opposite direction of this and its because there is no legitimate sign you're right here

@zackmac63102618 @CezaryXR PS5 isn't a VR headset. If you're comparing the 2, then you don't really believe in VR as a unique medium.

A market doesn't just magically jump to the part where there's a stream of high quality content again and again. It gets there because when there are only a few AAA games coming out, those few games do extremely well and attract more investment in AAA VR content. But that isn't happening. As you say - 3 AAA VR games out in the past year and VR has remained roughly flat, with Ubisoft expressing how disappointed they were in AC's performance on Quest. A stream of high quality play-once content might be good for some users, but the reality is that we'll never get that because that content isn't worth it engouh to most people in VR. On top of that, its the most economically inefficient way to retain VR users.

Assassin's Creed VR. Batman Arkham Shadow VR. Half Life Alyx. Asgard's Wrath II. Walking Dead S&S. RE4. All the PSVR2 games. We've had years of AAA VR games - and yet no mainstream adoption, except for one distinct demographics: kids playing with their friends in free to play virtual playgrounds. What am I missing?

One of the biggest mistakes in consumer social is thinking that better marketing/growth hacks are the answer. No. Stop wasting time on fake TikTok profiles and force yourself to go by real metrics. There is such fertile opportunity in VR that I think even spending on ads is a distraction from going solely off user feedback to create a massively organically viral experience.

@VirtualRageMstr @Shodah10 Yeah but for the metaverse it’ll be a sort of meta game in the way the economy is
