When Balfour came to Jerusalem in March 1925 on the eve of Ramadan to inaugurate the Hebrew University, the colonized population initiated a general strike. Jerusalem was made a ghost town and Palestinian dailies published English editions condemning and British colonialism.

It’s impressive how US diplomacy refers to the crimes of the Israeli occupation as if they were not part of the problem, as if they didn’t fund and provide political cover to 75 years of systematic violation of Palestinian rights.
We are extremely concerned by violence in Israel and the West Bank, including today’s loss of civilian life in Nablus. These events underscore the urgent need for both sides to work together to improve the security situation in the West Bank.
