I have a big life update to share - I was selected for the Observation Program Leader position at NWS Wakefield, VA! I will be moving back home to VA in July to maintain the office’s COOP program & fill in as a meteorologist when needed.

Today marks 4 years as a NWS meteorologist! What a ride it’s been. This job has given me so many incredible opportunities & has brought some of the most amazing people into my life. The rotating shifts are kicking my butt, but I’m grateful for the chance to live my dream 🌤

Today marks 5 years since I started working for the NWS. From Tucson to El Paso to Wakefield, it’s all been a journey of learning, growth, & connections. While the balloon launches & COOP trips have been fun, the best part has always been the friendships made along the way. ❤️

A couple years ago I went to the doctor for strep. They still asked when my last period was. I told them 4 months ago (before I was diagnosed with PCOS); the rush of judgement that came across the entire office. They tested me even though there wasn’t any way I could be pregnant.

After 11.5 days, my parents FINALLY have electricity and running water again! They can finally run the heat, flush the toilets, take a shower, do laundry, and cook whatever they want. What a relief! Let’s never do that again please. Longest outage since the ice storm of 1998.
