@SilenceInPolish @ianpacemain @amwilson_opera @andrewpconnell @OUPMusic Hi Jenny! My book Experiencing War as the 'Enemy Other' outlined how British Italian servicemen who fought in Italy felt a heightened identification with all aspects of Italian culture. Anecdotally, there was wider appreciation of Italian foodstuffs postwar.

Thanks Merryn. It is interesting to see which groups commemorate Donnini and which do not (and how this shifts through time).

@OurItalianRoots @SunderlandEcho @Terri_Colpi @SimocbPalladin @wugolini @ItalyinUK @FederationFHS … young Fsr. Dennis Donnini VC was remembered well recently, with a group following in the footsteps of the 52nd Lowland Divison (Walking With the Jocks). Here at Lind and Stein, but his grave and others are visited regularly at Sittard CWGC.

Delighted to have been interviewed by Miranda Melcher @NewBooksNetwork about my book 'Wales in England 1914-1945'. We talked about Wales as a site of solace for the 'broken' English soldier & lots more:
