1/2 What is the most effective, positive and optimistic political movement in 🇬🇧 today? By some way it is @lfg_uk spear-headed by @pursuitofprog @isnit0, with a growing band of growth-minded, 'upwingers' and merrie radicals supporting. Find out more 👇
0.1% Growth. We shouldn't accept this. Today, we're releasing the LFG Bill. The Bill by-passes the blockers in planning and fast-tracks the building of Nuclear Power Stations, Overhead Cables and Data Centres. Join LFG and help us make growth legal again🧵👇

2/2 And here's a quick glimpse into their traction... which has a long way further to go!
Very good start. We've been in meetings making sure key parts of The LFG Bill get introduced. Today, Keir announced two of our top priorities: - Fast tracked Nuclear planning - Patriot payments to people near construction Only one more to go. LFG 🚀

Agree! Please move the nuclear SMRs plan MUCH faster @kier_starmer @RachelReevesMP @10DowningStreet ! If Britain is to capture some of this AI industry, it's going to need nuclear power and lots of it before 2032.
The UK is on course to capture essentially none of this $300bn per year of investment unless it moves much more quickly to fix clean energy regulation:

What a wonderfully, heart warming thread for any Englishman or woman! Cricket really is one of the peaks of human civilisation. Some of the pitches in the Himalayan foothills are breath-taking too

@CntrstTweets @Keir_Starmer @10DowningStreet @RachelReevesMP @reformparty_uk Very good compared to previous norms, yes. Good enough for the energy crisis the UK is in; good enough to help UK succeed in AI; good enough to help Labour wint the next election: IMHO, No.

🇬🇧 is going to fast track nuclear! SMRs are coming! Huge credit for this must go to @lfg_uk @pursuitofprog @isnit0 and their LFG Bill! In a time when being positive, patriotic and progrowth is a radical, almost revolutionary, act they are leading lights! LFG indeed
This is HUGE Government announces: - FAST TRACK through planning for nuclear - PAYMENTS for people closest to construction CENTRAL ASPECTS of the @lfg_uk Bill are now government policy. Now is the time to PUSH to get the full measures, full speed and building started NOW.

.@Keir_Starmer @10DowningStreet @RachelReevesMP must establish a Covid Taskforce-like group, with major powers, to get @RollsRoyce SMRs online by the end of 2026 latest. 8 years to get SMRs online won't cut it.
This is 🔥 @Keir_Starmer @10DowningStreet @RachelReevesMP but SMRs coming online by 2032 is far too slow. 🇬🇧 needs cheaper energy faster + you may lose 2029 election to @reformparty_uk unless big planning + energy reforms are delivering results by then!

Once of the World's great cities is seeing the rule of law failing away. SF is the example NOT to follow. Hopefully London's trend changes soon
Less than 2% chance police identify a suspect in bike thefts. Those stories where a suspect is identified are almost always due to investigations from the victim! Theft is legal in Britain. Silence on this from the Mayor of London, whilst theft explodes across our capital.

Very based from @LabourGrowth ! Keep up the pressure on nuclear and SMRs please! LFG
New nuclear has a key role to play in delivering the transformative economic potential of the AI revolution while reaching Net Zero. SMRs should be able to go where demand is greatest so that growth is shared across every part of the country.

Hi @BristolCouncil @bristolgreen, I have 2 👶👼 + we use a lot of nappies each week. PLEASE do NOT collect black bin bags every 4 weeks. What Bristol does need is more growth (see @lfg_uk) to pay for better + more services. Thank you, A Cotham resident + council tax payer
It's almost impressive how consistently shit Green Party-led local councils are. And how quickly it takes for everything to go to shit. Is it genetic somehow?

Really hope this does not happen @BristolLive @BBCBristol. This feels like terrible city governance.
