Incoming tenured-track associate professor in SYSU-CET.
Postdoc in
@GroupLlobet
, postdoc/Ph.D/Bachelor in SYSU, Chemist in CO2 reduction, twin boys' dad.
I am glad to announce that I just accepted the offer as a tenured-track associate professor in my Alma Mater, Sun Yat-sen University, School of Chemical Engineering and Technology. Thanks very much to my wife, Toni and all group members! I will remember the two years forever!
I got my lovely twin boys in 2020, now I even got my great twin 'JACS's in this year!
@JACS_Au
@J_A_C_S
Now I really need a new bag for having more papers in the next year😌
It is great and unforgettable to join
@4Pcet
, with abundant knowledge to fresh my mind and multiple old / new friends / collaborations are going on the right tracks! Thanks as always to Toni
@GroupLlobet
,
@AnnaBeiler
and
@fetchlandtw
for impressive efforts in achieving the event!
Submission initially from 2021, after multiple peer-review and rejections, finally got accepted by
@JACS_Au
, the end of my 1st postdoc. There was always a negative, stubborn reviewer but fortunately not this time😇Thanks for all collaborations🥂🤝
An invited review paper for

on Coord. Chem. Rev.
@ELSchemistry
was just online! It may give you some ideas on choosing earth-abundant-metal-based photosensitizers for CO2 reduction.

Today is happy (1) for my loss in La Caixa JLF since I just knew that I have zero 'candidate potential' for it and (2) for the online version my 25th 1st/corre paper, also my first

paper, showing high-five molecules!
There are many chemists announcing their success in acquiring the MCSA fellowship. With a two-time-failure experience, I would like to comfort those who did not get it: just go ahead for your expected research.

This is my first tweet and I am so excited to share two of my recent papers on the same catalyst, the same pi-interactions and the same CO2 photoreduction. One is on CRPS, while the other one is on JACS Au, both proving the design of dynamic interactions.

A record-high quantum yield of 76% for CO2-to-CO photoconversion is realized by dynamic coordinative interactions within a noble-metal-free Cu(I)-Co(II) molecular system.

My opinion is that the disruptive science will be achieved by those very talented and strong-minded, while much less possible by me as a worker relying on publishing less disruptive papers to make a living.😌
Presenting your work at a conference is NOT about reporting your results.
It's about controlling the flow of logic and excitement through the minds of the audience.
At each conference, I see a lot of mistakes that make

A recent review paper on Chemosphere, focusing on the treatment methods of PFOA/PFOS substitutes. I may not continue this research field😇since my titanium suboxide never works...
It can be a bit frequent but it is great to congrats to my Chinese students for harvesting two more papers!😆

I just got a paper accepted which originates from a ligand variation causing inacitivty for CO2 photoreduction. But I overcome this issue by using different ligands. You may have to find a way to make it active by rational modifications then this paper will be very appealing.
Curious to know how it’s possible to stitch together two olefins with just two simple catalysts? Check out this paper just published

First time to feel the power of Chirstmas in preventing the comments from the reviewers...🥲PLZ give me positive (not COVID) ones after you reviewers have a great time🙏
My first ever first-author paper got published! (All while I’m at the inorganic rxn mechanisms GRC!!)
The results were surprising and it was such an adventure to wrap my head around this work.
@ACSCatalysis
OMG. I was stuck in the conversion constant from Fc couple to NHE in DMF for many hours. 0.6 V? 0.609 V? 0.694 V? Who can give me a very compelling reference paper for this value?
#chemtwitter
Honestly I will avoid this in my next project by only showing the Fc couple.
It is frustrating when we want to bring our kids to Spain, my parents keep preventing us for the safety issue. I cannot even complain because they are 'caring' us. What a Chinese dilemma.
