I wanna be like Burgess Meredith in The Twilight Zone episode "Time Enough at Last," but with video games, too.

@RetroJeff83 @ArcadeShock I’m generally a purist when it comes to hardware, but I gotta admit those color buttons really pop!

@VEsoterica Playing this upon release on the Saturn was marvelous. I didn’t know anything about fps back then, but I knew the game felt smooth as butter. And the amazing soundtrack is seared into my brain.

@swooper_d One of my favorite party games! Never seen those drum pad covers before. They look cool!

@bloggospow @TheRetroMartin @swooper_d @MrDJPea @AmyFluidGoth @GRiGORiGS @stewie55uk @reddogjamie @games_rozz @NShmups I thought it looked familiar 🙂 You’re right in describing it as looking “basic.” The inclusion of polygons makes it look less detailed and more sterile than previous entries in the series. At least it came bundled with III on PS2.

@matthughson Spotted this in a GameStop near Seattle today. It’s kinda tucked in the back, but it’s there!

@bloggospow @TheRetroMartin @swooper_d @GRiGORiGS @xBrunnoFGx @ColonelFancy @Paulusthebrave @AmyFluidGoth @JAMOGRAD @stewie55uk Lol, great framing sequence! I swear I can hear some music from Donna Summer’s “I Feel Love” in the music for Proof of Destruction

@RetroJeff83 Are the Seimitsu buttons quieter than the stock buttons? It’s been a while since I’ve used the NG arcade stick, but I seem to recall them being noticeably “clackity.”

@swooper_d Your assessment is pretty spot on. Very much enjoyed this port. Next best thing to having a Neo Geo back in the day!

The screen on my TurboExpress had been dead since I got it 10+ years ago. Sent it over to @RetroJeff83 and he fixed it right up: gave it a good cleaning, replaced the caps, and installed a swanky new screen—awesome job! Now I’m gaming on the go like it’s the 90s again! 😎

@bloggospow @swooper_d @MrDJPea @TheRetroMartin @yesterzine @SJimtendo @stewie55uk @JAMOGRAD @AmyFluidGoth @PrimalJayquay @Fdurso224Durso Good video! Pretty much the only thing holding back Race Drivin’ is the GB’s visual limitations. Quite decent otherwise. Enjoyed Double Dragon and Marble Madness on NES, and the GB ports do them justice. I wonder how much better GB KoF 96 is over 95? It didn’t come to the US.

@VEsoterica Really enjoying this series. Appreciate that you extoll the virtues of even the “lesser” versions of the compared games. Even though it’s not a port, a small nod to Hyperstone Heist would have been cool (the Sunset Riders episode spoiled me 😄).

@bloggospow @yesterzine @JAMOGRAD @SJimtendo @stewie55uk @swooper_d @MrDJPea @TheRetroMartin @AmyFluidGoth @PrimalJayquay @games_rozz Heated Barrel is like the lovechild of Gun.Smoke and Sunset Riders. TH Strikesback has some of the zaniest enemy designs I’ve ever seen 🤣

@RetroJeff83 Ah, excellent! I have only the stock battery case and the rechargeable battery pack, which is long dead.
