My extremely outlandish theory has been/is that Uber will eventually acquire Cloud Kitchens for Eats, and Travis will come back to Uber and dominate, similar to Jobs with Next and Apple.
Very little has been written about Travis Kalanick’s (Uber’s ex CEO) new company: CloudKitchens.
I considered joining his new company when he left Uber, but I wasn’t ready for another startup.
It is however an interesting company, likely already valued at $15B-$30B

Sparks flying and Ascend V2 coming along quite nicely. One of the most performant and connected bikes out there. Going to be ready by end of august.
Lmk if interested in trying it out — would love to hear your thoughts after riding it (super easy to learn, will teach ya)
Super hyped to release a sneak peek of what

Took the
@rideascend
prototype on a ride from Sf to Palo Alto, and it held together pretty nice. Still got enough juice left to get me back 💪. Riding it did get me a few confused looks from drivers, but worth it.
Back to building electric bikes and getting some sketches/designs out. Would love design feedback before we start to produce and manufacture soon -- anyone willing to take a look and comment?

Honestly think that Miami may be one of the most inspiring and energizing cities I've ever been to. Straight up just radiating optimism and sheer "anything is possible" vibes.

The sears catalog homes were a quintessential part of the early 1900s.
Great to see the revival of this concept by the home depot, at a time when housing has been an extremely inflated asset, and making home owning a possibility for a lot of people again.
Got an opening in a 4 bed apt in the Mission (SF) for July and August. Would love to have someone join me,

Spent the afternoon reading about Tardigrades and they are probably one of the most interesting organisms on the planet. These microscopic organisms have a lot of very interesting traits that are mind boggling.

Really incredible that we live in a country where we casually launch a couple thousand objects into space. Incredibly empowering and inspiring to think about, as even about a couple decades ago, this was unfathomable.
On May 1st, we launched the inaugural cohort of the soma fellowship with 28 incredible teams and founders each getting 100k uncapped to work on their companies
For a city with a budget of 14 billion dollars, SF sure does have a lot of shitty roads and potholes. Kind of scary given that a lot of people ride bikes, scooters or motorcycles in the city, and they could get seriously injured.

It’s honestly extremely heartwarming to see the earnest and pure joy these msft execs had when they displayed their work to the world. They embraced what they loved to do, and found true joy in it.
@kunalshxh
Just wait till we launch our new pitch “big data AI quantum computing nft crypto blockchain defi electric motorcycles”. Won’t be an issue ever again.

Seems to be a growing trend in a lot of great companies. Rippling, levels health etc hiring ex founders/aqui hiring companies but giving people a lot of autonomy but with backing and support seems to lead to an incredible amount of progress and developments.
@troostin
4 months ago, I couldn’t dunk. Then I met Trustin and trained with him. 4 months later, I still can’t dunk but it was a great experience nonetheless.
Recommend trustin 10/10, great trainer and great vibes.
Super random, but reading about cancer and realized that the mitochondria is important for tumor growth. However, the tumor microenvironment is generally hypoxic but the mitochondria needs oxygen to function. Potential paradox?? would love to read more if anyone has resources.

@luke_metro
Yeah, honestly think it stems from misaligned incentives these days. Easier to get faster returns on the short run with software I’d imagine, but hardware takes more on the lower end and higher risk till it takes off.
Strong and well founded intuition should always be acknowledged and even supported. Been thinking about Barry Marshall, who literally injected himself with ulcer causing bacteria when people thought ulcers were incurable and could cause permanent damage.
Also major shout out to the core Soma team, Willem, Nikhita and Fouad for spearheading the development of the program on top of their day to day jobs at Soma!! They set the pipeline up, onboarded teams diligence and are the main reason that the fellowship is a reality!!
We opening our office tomorrow at noon and are letting everyone try out our electric motorcycle prototype. Pull through if you’re in the SF Bay Area —
Food and drink will be provided.
@kunalshxh

What’s the deep tech/manufacturing/hardware scene like in Miami? Would love to chat with builders and investors in the space here and get their thoughts on it
“My parents and grandparents were farmers in China but after they moved to the US, they switched to IT”
Overheard in Manhattan lmao but farmer to software pipeline do be a thing
It’s kind of absurd to think about the fact that the 0.05 (which in most cases could be a rounding error) in Apple's 3.05 T market cap is actually equal to 50 Billion.
We are holding an “open house”/“demo day” for anyone who is interested to come test our prototype out/chat with other cool people in an incredible house (shoutout to

). RSVP link here —

Would be interesting to see the different suggestions for remote first teams where no one on the team has interacted with eachother irl vs remote first teams that were built by people who worked together irl in the past .
BlockFi went from raising at a 3B valuation a year ago to trying to raise at a 1B valuation 3 weeks ago. Now they probably going to be acquired for 25 Mil by FTX in a fire sale.
Unfortunate.

Really agree with this — sometimes, the best defense is possessing a stronger, and more advanced arsenal and always iterating on it. Never need to be the aggressor, but being in a position of guaranteed “victory” via advanced defense tech may just prevent targeted attacks.

Cricket is the world's No. 2 sport, but long ago faded in popularity in the USA, replaced by baseball. Here's how a consortium of mostly South Asian investors plan to introduce Major League Cricket to the US next summer:
