Freelance journalist, but my lance isn't free. Writing a shitty novel. Key West literary beach bum. Dionysian anti-fascist. 'The Rimbaud of Hazel Park.'
Time Magazine called to say that I was PROBABLY going to be named “Man (Person) of the Year,” like last year, but I would have to agree to an interview and a major photo shoot. I said probably is no good and took a pass. Thanks anyway!

Bullshit. You get a bunch of mandatory vaccinations upon arrival at basic, and more for overseas deployments. And mandatory U.S. military vaccinations have happened since Gen. George Washington ordered small pox inoculations during the Revolution.
When my high school freshman was still a tiny guy in diapers, I'd have this song on the car radio and he'd gleefully sing out SOW MAAHN in his car seat. I miss those moments. I miss Belushi, who I was lucky enough to see on SNL as a little dude myself.

You just know that he'll take that job daddy gave him and put everything in some especially weird crypto, and she'll end up bailing them out once he's bankrupted them and tried to sell one of the twins on one of the grosser 4chan boards he's been posting on for years.
Per ESPN: The Nuggets' Game 4 clincher over the Lakers on Monday night averaged 8.2 million viewers with a peak of 11.48 million from 11-11:15 pm ET, in preliminary Nielsen data. It's the most-watched NBA conference finals Game 4 on ESPN platforms since 2015, the network said.
My wife's poll worker training included what to do if people are brandishing guns at the polls, and how to handle anti-mask people. Just incredible how American society has been reduced to this.
The U.S. pandemic death toll is now the size of Arlington National Cemetery, which has about 400,000 graves of former servicemembers and their relations. Just gutting.
This is powerful. Millions of Americans have dealt with addiction themselves or with family or friends. Or all three. I've lost immediate family and close friends to drugs and alcohol and addiction. Mocking addiction because you lack empthy, as we saw in the debate, is obscene.
Imagine the good one can do in the world with $44 billion beyond buying a big social media platform. End hunger and homelessness and other critical social ills ... or buy Twitter so you can bring back Trump and let vulnerable people be further hurt by the shittiest people.

I'd forgotten entirely about this convicted pervert until today. I didn't realize that he was out of prison nor that he wrote for RT, too. And he's peddling Kremlin talking points on here. Jesus.

Just a couple of good ol' boys from the Gulf Coast, raisin' hell and having a good time: Oakland Raiders quarterback Ken "The Snake" Stabler and Jimmy Buffett in the 1970s.
Just FYI: Sports are inherently political and reflect the political, social, cultural, racial, sexual, economic and other aspects of society. And it always has been that way, and always will be.
If I were a Detroit Tigers fan, this would be my favorite logo. Paws is cute, sure, but this meth eyes tiger looks like he's seen some stuff and he means business.

When people whine that SNL used to be great in [insert era] I tell them to watch full episodes from that era on Peacock because every iteration of SNL had truly terrible and/or inscrutable skits, with some bangers in between. That's been the case since 1975.
This is a mildly funny bit by a rookie standup. I chuckled. Yet there is a genuinely weird Reply Guy debate about this joke that's like Talmudic scholarship into a silly bit.
Annual reminder that the Griswolds from "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" are named for Griswold Street in Detroit, and the original story ("Xmas '59") has them living in Grosse Pointe -- where John Hughes, who wrote the Vacation stories, grew up.
One of monster albums of all time. Just loaded with hits, and the songs that didn't chart, like Vienna, are fantastic. And yes, we had this on 8-track when it came out.
"Prince of Wales" wasn't always an 18th birthday present title for the English monarchy in London. My ancestral homeland was once an independent nation before military conquest and colonization.
732 years ago, in a meadow on the banks of the river Irfon, the last Prince of Wales, Llywelyn ap Gruffudd fell.
His life ended in battle with King Edward of England's soldiers.

WWE also turned out to have an ownership stake in the XFL, and this the WWE share price decline, it's not particularly surprising McMahon is making all these moves.
McMahon announced WWE is cutting staff, including wrestlers, with some being furloughed, and also cutting back on executive pay, among other money saving measures. This is big.

Minor League Baseball player salaries are paid by the major league teams. MLB can more than afford to pay farm players a living wage. Each owner this year got a $50 million windfall for the BAMTech sale, for example.
The continued underpayment of minor league baseball players is nearly law. On Page 1,967 of the new omnibus bill is an amendment that exempts minor league players from federal labor law. If Congress passes the bill by Friday, it's official. The language:

Ah, a classic June night in Michigan: 55 degrees and I'm in a fall jacket and summer shorts with the car window down and the seat-warmer on high.
Pure Michigan. Pure Chaos.
The current decade is threatening to end without a championship by one of Detroit's four pro sports teams or by Michigan or Michigan State football or basketball. If there's none this year, it would be the first time since the 19th century that none of the teams won a title.

1. There are unconfirmed reports that Qasem Soleimani commander of Qods Force (Iran's external security agency) has been killed in drone strikes. If true, this will be a major moment in US-Iran relations & Supreme Leader will undoubtedly see this as a major provocation/act of war
The "Just Say No" of my 1980s youth has given way to "please buy pot, booze, lottery tickets, and gamble on sports because we need the money for schools and roads."
As people around the state celebrate 4/20 today, I want to be blunt in recognizing that the purchase of legal marijuana products through state-licensed facilities not only means a more safe product, but it also means more tax dollars for schools, roads, and communities.

This happened to my mother when she was in labor with me -- cavalier, almost cruel treatment. It got so bad that she had to mention my granddad, a prominent local businessman and elected official. Their attitudes did a 180 to fawning and providing painkillers. Yikes.
