GrapheneOS just released the much anticipated Duress PIN feature!. You can now set a special "duress" PIN, so instead of unlocking the phone, it just immediately wipes the encryption keys in the secure element, making the storage data unrecoverable. Ahead of the game as always.
GrapheneOS version 2024053100 released:. See the linked release notes for a summary of the improvements over the previous release. Forum discussion thread:. #GrapheneOS #privacy #security.

Uploading this, right here!.So everyone can see it. It's actually a pretty good advertisement for Monero. Quite well done presentation. Shows the downsides of ring signatures, but through this you can see how FCMP will fully stump their tracing efforts.
Chainalysis is trying to wipe this video off the internet after the Monero community noticed it and used it to figure out most of their tricks (Hint: using your own node + FCMPs break 100% of their tracing abilities)

To my great disappointment, this is true even on the Linux version. As you can see there is the encryption key stored in the config.json. Common @signalapp! What are you doing!? OS keystores exist for a reason ya know π
TL;DR: Don't install @signalapp for macOS, it is not secure. I carried out this small experiment:. - I wrote a simple Python script that copies the directory of Signal's local storage to another location (to mimic a malicious script or app).- I ran the script in the Terminal and

β οΈ I see a lot of fake info being spread about Monero in relation to this leaked video from Chainalysis. Just to sum it up. Monero is NOT broken/traceable/honey pot whatever. Chainalysis is using spy nodes to correlate IPs to user's transactions, and attempting to corroborate.
π¨ BREAKING: Leaked Chainalysis video βsuggests Monero transactions may be traceable.β. An anonymous source shared a highly confidential copy of the leaked video with Cointelegraph. Here's the shocking information you need to know. π π§΅

π¨Due to some issues, we've decided to deprecate our F-Droid repository. With that being said, Cake Wallet is now available on @accrescentapp, a newer open source, secure, and privacy-respecting app store, and will be the recommended way to install for Android going forward.π°

yo @ProtonPrivacy Bitcoin transactions currently cost an average of $28 US dollars per transaction. If you care about crypto payments, you need to accept other coins that allow you to transact without unaffordable fees. If you really care about privacy, you should accept Monero.

Roger Ver is facing life in prison for revealing how the US government worked secretly to subvert cryptocurrency and prevent economic freedom. More people should hear this story. (0:00) Roger Ver Facing Extradition.(7:49) The Hijacking of Bitcoin.(12:18) How the Government

Monero's privacy is about to get SO much better. The sender privacy improvements from FCMP are insane. It was already quite good, but FCMP takes it to whole other level, and will remove the one main weakness Monero has had for a long time, which is ring signatures.
We're excited to share that a pull request has been made for the Full-Chain Membership Proofs (FCMP++) integration into Monero! . The pull request is a work-in-progress and will be improved upon and reviewed to ensure soundness of the implementation.

This is why I'm excited for one of GrapheneOS's next big features, which is App Communication Scopes. This will allow you to prevent apps from performing IPC (inter-process communication) with each other as well as (IIRC) knowing that other apps even exist, in the same profile!.
Apps on your phone can see which other apps you have installed. Apps also often talk to each other without you realizing. To stop this, silo apps on separate profiles. Here's how it works & the benefits of secondary profiles.

Well, this is extremely disappointing. Skiff is "joining" Notion. Notion clearly just acquired them and is subsequently shutting down their entire product line. What an insane waste of product development, for something that was really good and had huge potential.
Skiff is joining @NotionHQ π. We're excited to accelerate Skiff's mission by joining Notion. The world needs tools that empower people and put their interests first. We're in a better position than ever to deliver this change. Read more onπ

I will always be proud to be a shitcoiner, and supportive of the most insidious shitcoin, Monero. If being an "insidious shitcoin" means being freedom money that's usable, private by default, and easy to use, I guess Monero is the ultimate shitcoin.
@efenigson @saoulidisg If you want to be outrageously hot, consider abandoning Umbrel, which supports Monero blockchain, an insideous shitcoin, and switch to Parmanode. I created it out of frustration, and have made it easy to import your Umbrel drive so you don't have to start from scratch. Save.

Withdrawals suspended during the final hours. Comical, but unsurprising. This is why the Monero community is glad to see XMR get delisted. The "liquidity" some people claim it provided has been very fractionally reserved, while suspending withdrawals up to days at a time.
Binance will delist #Monero in less than 12 hours. @binance also has Monero withdrawals halted for the past several hours citing "low hot wallet balance". Why would they not have ALL of their XMR in hot wallet knowing their delisting schedule?. Manipulation til the last minute.

GrapheneOS team doing incredible work getting Android 15 released so fast! . Friendly tip: If you appreciate their work and want to donate, here's an easy way to do it with crypto using Cake Wallet! (From the Info app) π
Stable channel release of GrapheneOS based on Android 15 will begin rolling out to devices. To avoid the servers being overloaded due to much larger than usual deltas, we'll be starting with the newest devices and working towards the oldest ones. Can use Beta if you want it now.

Whether Durov truly stood against gov data requests or not. the problem is, now that he's gone, Telegram has become an absolute treasure trove, and govs want a taste. If he really cared about the users and was smart about it, they would have switched to E2EE by now. Makes it.
Telegram handed over 2,253 usersβ data to US authorities in 2024, fulfilling 900 official requests. The numbers of requests fulfilled skyrocketed from 14 to 900 after its CEO Pavel Durov was arrested in France. Follow: @AFpost

That's a bold, easily refutable point. care elaborate? Oh. > Claims Monero is a scam.> Sends link to completely unrelated post.> Claims Monero is a scam because supporters lie about benefits.> Refuses to elaborate. Can't tell if this is based or retarded, might be both.
@DJQUANTUMCRYPTO @monero Outright scam at this point. I was unsure because of one of the people working on it who seemed honest, but he went full scammer himself a few years ago too so meh.

π«€.Not good. Need DEXes more than ever.
The IRS new broker rule is a nightmare for every non-custodial exchange and swap provider. Built a website to let users swap between currencies? You're a broker under IRS reporting requirements. Built a mobile app to let users swap between currencies? You're a broker under IRS.

Monero continuing the hold its own. Funny how market cap or price doesn't mean everything, unlike how some maxis would want you to believe. According to CoinMarketCap, it's #32, yet I'd suggest it's top 3 for real world use. As in the words of the late John McAfee:

It is indeed a sad day. Regardless of the drama between the Samourai and Monero community, both communities (for the most part) are working towards a similar goal. financial freedom through privacy tech. It does look like the gov is bending existing regulation to now mean.
Samourai Wallet, a Bitcoin privacy service, has been shut down and its founders arrested! π±. A Bitcoin-only noncustodial CoinJoin service, Samourai gave users privacy by allowing them to coordinate with other users to mix their funds to break the transaction graph. To the best
