the radicalization of young boys into toxic/abusive men is something that needs to be studied because it is getting much much worse. I think more men need to tell them it's not acceptable and be incredibly truthfully about how hurtful what they're saying is.

If i said that every woman in Rings of Power had some of the most compelling stories in a LotR production that's not the books, would I be stoned? Like we get complex, well written, well developed female characters. Not a single one misses.

I'm glad that Rings of Power is continuing the legacy of portraying masculinity in a healthy way, especially when it comes to Elendil, Elrond, and Durin (and the Isildur trio).

it being 2024 and the rings of power folks falling back on the stereotype of making the non-European culture look evil was not what i expected & is very disappointing and a reminder that white people are still behind the creation of the show.

No I refuse to stand for this because people hated the Shadow of Mordor Celebrimbor. He was very, VERY inaccurate in terms of characterization. Rings of Power Celebrimbor is far more accurate in terms of characterization.

This started before the choking scene though. This began when Daemon left her alone and unintended in a brothel and ruined Rhaenyra's reputation. This started when Daemon killed his wife. This part of him was always there.

Well during the clone wars too. The Jedi were essentially compliant in leading an entire army of men with little rights, and did little to advocate for them. The Jedi and the Republic are incredibly guilty regarding what happened to the clones, both during and after the war.

I really feel like people feel the need to say this so they don't offend their friends or their social groups. I literally don't think at this point it's even comparable and for many people who see themselves in characters due to the casting, it IS better. And that's fine.

I think in general fan artist in the fandom tend to project dark skin on to their fancast in regards to more masculine or aggressive characters. I think with conversations of colorism and masculinization of certain ethnicities, this is a mistake that can easily be corrected
i hate that thing fandom does with queer guy characters where the white one is always seen as the femme/gnc one but the darker skinned ones are always seen as the masc ones

While removing the part about dwarves and antisemitism because I'm not Jewish myself, and I wasn't really comfortable doing that.

Visery's raised her to believe that she wouldn't have to be held accountable for her mistakes, because he always stood up for her. He killed people for questioning her children's lineages, and she believed even after, that her father's protection still existed. This was so nasty

Yeah, I've been side-eyeing fans who are upset that her colonist vibes weren't added. I think this fixed Galadriel for me, because her entitlement was challenged in a way it isn't in the books, and she has to face consequences for how she rushes head first into things.

I disagree. He feels Alicent respects him. They have a shared mutual bond over religious vows, and duties. Plus, he's integrated into Alicent's family. The king and the prince look up to him. It's more than just intimacy, it's a family for him.
