@AskYatharth And now you know why landlords run credit checks! Another wild thing: basically every time a business sells something to another business with an invoice involved, also an extension of credit.

@louisvarge lack of discipline about what you optimize for does not make this problem better. if anything, it makes it easier for your soul to get sucked into bad basins

@louisvarge pretend you are bill murray in groundhog day. at the end of the day, everything resets except your soul. all your possessions, connections, money, followers, reputation; it all goes away in less than 24h. knowing that, that do you do instead?

@louisvarge it's not the having of followers per se, it's what valuing "having a high follower number on twitter" does to your choices and what you optimize for

@cremieuxrecueil you do not get to demand that no one judge you; you do not get to demand that others cooperate with you. they are the masters of their minds and their efforts the person who wants to be free from the wider effects of their decisions— including social effects— is a child

@Duderichy I have had a skiing spill that would have been fatal if there had been an ill-placed cliff in my path, though:
craziest ski crash yet today. ski popped off at the top of north bowl (♦︎♦︎) at palisades, starting a 1000ft uncontrolled slide down the mountain (i am totally fine)
