Hwoarang CD+3 can be used in combo during ground hit (I main Hwoarang now).
A few more characters can do this, I wish properties would be shared more throughout the roster but it does make characters unique.

Collection of Season One open stage death combos, note that the combo at 1:06 does not work on 2D opponents (Eliza/Akuma escape with meter CD+1+2 & Geese interrupts with Raging storm).
Since Tekken 8 has been released, the line between "These combos are too situational and will never happen in a match" and "This is broken we have to report it" has suddenly disappeared.
What am I missing?
I was reading this article regarding the outsourcing of update work/user experience to "Arika". It's clear they performed bug fixes during the end of T7 but if it's two companies communicating back and forth, it could explain recent patch problems?

Lars, Nina and Asuka's Heat Smash reset combo momentum after floorbreak (albeit Asuka's causes the Opp to be back turned), all the other Heat Smashs have normal scaling iirc

This era is having the opposite effect to me, I remember Tekken 7 starting off bland and everyone hating but it built itself up, Tekken 8 started with a bang but I feel it will be watered down in the next few years. I hope I'm wrong.

I agree, this should have been a simple "Decreased recovery by X frames" or "Hitbox adjusted for unintended behavior", not remove a mechanic that has existed since 2014 (7.0 location testing).
If the mechanic was a problem they could have adjusted it during T7 FR. This is lazy.

They seemed to understand T7 for the most part (there was some controversy about an Akuma setup but I don't follow tech traps) where they wiped the mechanic entirely, much like what's happening now.
After Yoshimitsu, Feng will be the next character I will explore. Here's the first combo short featuring him. More info about the combos in the comments.

I will make my own thread at some point, but I wonder how much of this is "Arika" making the changes, IIRC they helped Bamco with T7 maintenance and it looks like they have a hand in T8 patching and data collection.

I'm not impressed with the update at all, I have not been making many combos as I suspect Namco uses us combo makers to collect information and patch accordingly, and I was right.
However, I am looking forward to see what you have recorded :)

Combo makers during the Tekken 7 era would often post their findings on Twitter in the form of short clips as opposed to making CMVs straight away, sometimes said clips on Twitter get compiled into combo videos later on down the road.

I love how they say "Unexpected" or "Unintended" follow up/behaviour, but all it takes is simple arithmetic to determine what could follow up after HMS u+4 with their own frame data display.
Namco work with a company called "Arika" that deal with online/balancing I have noticed.

Time is the key ingredient to making the best combos possible (I don't like seeing potentially good combos pumped out every second, it's a waste in my opinion).
