Planning to buy a used EV in 2029, and hopefully a heat pump in 2039 (if UK policy becomes more supportive).

RT @gnievchenko: It's 4x cheaper to abate emissions using biomass CHP + CCS rather than using biomass for bioegenic CO2 in synthetic kerose…

@djjmilner I didn’t notice a mention of it, despite highlighting the need to bring down the cost of trams. Maybe I missed it.

@speak2thegeek I converted my HA to use MariaDB and it looks like I can directly connect to that from my laptop and do the analysis and modelling there. So I might be able to avoid needing Telegraf/InfluxDB/Grafana. 🤞

@willow_peck No rush, not my problem to solve. I have to wait for everyone else to sort themselves out.

@willow_peck There’s no improvement to our quality of life for spending all that money without cooling. Coventry is on track to take 1,750 years to be 100% domestic heat pumps. Not remotely relevant in my lifetime.

@willow_peck It’s been mentioned, but no clarity on the final changes. If no cooling then no heat pump for us. Not in this lifetime anyway. Long live the stinky 1997 Ferroli.

Our house (mostly) transitioned from coal to gas at some point. (We still have one coal stove and over 100kg of coal in the coal store.) At this rate our house will be over 100 years old before we fully transition off of gas.
@simoncgallagher @NoPoke @_heatgeek Thanks. So be it. We just want to be in the first 5% locally with a heat pump, and a heat pump is our first priority. Coventry is on track to take 1,750 years for 100% heat pumps. That gives us another 87 years. Our house is 87 years old.
